Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

Thank you guys. Most likely I'm going to do like I do for the NBA- collect everybody. I can't really imagine collecting only one team or player. that's just incomplete to me. I am sure I will pick a favorite at some point, but I have not even seen every team play yet.
If I do get to a game most likely it would be the Adirondack team, that plays at the Glens Falls Civic Center, I believe. I'll take any excuse I can get to go to the Adirondacks.
I began actively adding cards to my collection today...my local vintage dealer had back to 1957-58 in his inventory, so now...I do!
I think I know have most of the 70s and 80s Topps sets in my collection now, and just a few minutes ago I opened my first pack of the O-Pee-Chee brand ever, any subject. Life as a Hockey collector

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I became a real hockey fan 4 years ago when my girlfriend took me to a Blue Jackets game. I had casually followed and watched some playoffs before that, and of course Olympic hockey. Welcome to the club and now we will have even more to trade.

I was a hockey colelctor for years but the 2004-05 NHL lockout was the final straw. I still pick up an occasional Islanders cards but that is a rarity.

I recently acquired a LARGE collection of cards, about 65% hockey. Meaning, probaly over 10,000 cards. I will be SLOWLY adding them to the data base for trade.
Most importantly......CONGRATS Billy for taking on something new :).

Welcome to the club! I think the NHL is one of the best sports to watch live! Good luck with your collection!

Thanks again everyone!
I've had several people tell me I need to check into that Epack thing already...I will have to do that.
Turned out I got 102 new hockey cards yesterday, and 101 of them already had scans posted here. That's pretty amazing. I ended up scanning a bunch anyway for posting on my blog, with more scans yet to come.

Congrats Billy, you have taken on a huge endeavour in expanding your collection. I myself limit my colleting to baseball as I find there is too much out there and not enough money inmy pocket or roomin my cave.
Just a bit of advice in picking your team - the Blue and White of the Toronto team is the greatest with the greatest following - jump on this wagon. The Oil out west is dropping in value all the time - don't invest in it. When Martin Brodeur retired, sodidthe Devils in New Jersey, from a competetive team. And the Avalanche has found its way to the base (bottom) of the mountain.

Hey Billy, ~BOB~ here,
I'm sure you are aware, I'm unloading most of my Hockey and Basketball. Sets, lots etc......What do you have to trade? Not into racing....Baseball, Football, some Non-Sports. Some players, some teams, some stickers, some team logos. ERRs and VARs for sure. Extra vintage!
Maybe we can work on and workout trading giant care packages. LMK.
Always ready to trade, ~BOB~
