None of you know me. I don't know you. But where better to crow about completing the 1972 Topps baseball card set today.
It's done!!!!!!!
That is all.

V3 - You're completely correct on the three statements.
However, we're a little community now by being here. Allow me to be the first to do it in writing - CONGRATULATIONS!
It's still but a dream for me.

Congrats! I'm sure it took some time to complete and it probably feels good!

Congrats, V^3! That set is one of my favorites, and while I'm making some slow progress I still have a little ways to go. But it is a fun pastime to try to get there, isn't it?
So what's your next target set to complete?
(Maybe I should focus more on picking an icon to identify myself and less on the 72 Topps! First post...but now I feel like I'm not adequately prepared!)

Congratulations. It is such a great feeling to finish an older set of cards. I look forward to that day, as I'm slowly chipping away at different sets myself.

Congrats! It is always a great feeling to complete a set, especially an older one that has some difficult pieces to find.

Cesar Geronimo. For some reason my shop didn't have him.

Oh, let me publicly thank my wife and daughters who regularly tracked down my list, went across town to the shop and bought me a great many of the cards on various birthdays holidays -- and yes, it took several birthdays.
I'll also say that now it's time to play. Sure, they're all in numerical order at the moment, but that has no meaning to me. Now that it's done, I will take each and every card out of the binder, sort them by teams and groups of special cards, put the teams alphabetically in order with the team card, followed by the manager, followed by my favorite/the best/the most significant players in order. Then placing them all in the binder. I will end up touching every card multiple times, looking at the stats, enjoying them. This will take hours over the span of weeks. It's what the hobby is all about. Sorry, a bit soap-boxy there.
That said, there's always controversy in sorting. What you do think? Keep all the In Action cards with they teams of the individual players or group all those cards together?
Enjoy collecting!

I think I'm working on 1971 next, since I'm well on the way. But that might be my last traditional set. I also want to focus on my collection of the last Topps card of all HOFers who have a Topps card.
