Generally, if a letter repeats, the card # on the back will tell you which one it is AND/OR the picture on the front will be different. For example, OZZIE SMITH in 2009 UD ICONS Lettermen sets would give the 1st "I" the #OS4 and the 2nd "I" would be #OS8. Both of those cards have the same serial numbering of 40 copies, so there are actually 80 copies of an "I" card but they are different card numbers (card fronts were the same on those). I have the complete nameplate for Jimmie Johnson in 2009 Press Pass Eclipse Solar Swatches. There are 7 cards that spell out JOHNSON and all cards had a different card number on the back and a different picture on the front. As you can see, there are 2 "O"s and 2 "N"s. Both of each letter was SN200, but each on had a different card # and a different front picture. The other 3 cards have different serial numbers from those and each other, as well as different card #'s and front images. As Dan said, you really need visual proof on cards like this!
