A previous forum post got me thinking again about the 2017 Rediscover Topps Buybacks.  I have pulled buybacks form both the Topps flagship and the Topps Heritage sets.

Currently there are two checklists, one under Topps and another under Heritage.  As it stands now we are to list the cards from the set we pulled them from, or under the flagship if we have no idea where the card came from (if somehow obtained individually with no way of knowing which set it was pulled from.)

I don't seem to see it yet, but what happens if a buyback card is pulled from Topps and an identical buyback with the same stamping is pulled from Heritage?  We would have the exact same card listed twice.

Not saying I am correct, but I am starting to wonder if maybe the Rediscover Topps Buybacks should be listed as its own set under Oddball or something?  This way it prevents that situation from happening.  Also the different colored foil may throw a wrench in things as well.

I have no real issue with the way it is listed now, but I am starting to wonder if how we have it is the best way.

I concur, I would not be too surprised to see them come out of Archives as well.

Now that there are Bowman buybacks coming out of 2017 Bowman, I think it makes more sense to group the Topps buybacks together no matter which product they came from, and group the Bowman buybacks separately. Perhaps they can just have their own set listings, with the various foil colours can be listed as parallels? i.e.: 2017 Rediscover Topps (Topps) and 2017 Rediscover Topps (Bowman).

And then, of course, there's the Leaf and Donruss and even more Donruss cards that Topps stamped for some reason...
