I really enjoy the birthday feature on this site and the fact that people are editing the info on players. I also think it would be nice to have our own birthdays on here. We don't have to reveal ages, but to wish each other Happy Birthday would be fun.

Good point dsorek, but some of these goobers on here are kinda shy (for lack of a better term LOL) ................ as for me not so much.

As a kid, the only way you knew a player's birthday was from the back of his card. That is why I remember Linz and Mahaffey.

I'm big on displays of cards in my office. I have more ideas, though, than displays, but one we all should have - and if not displays, at least lists on TCDB - are players who share a birthday with us. It's easy enough to get that information here.

Does the post office still send "Postage Due", Billy?

I think it would be cool if the members birthdays were celebrated on the front page with the "celebrities".
Billy - you're funny!
BTW, I share a bday with Mike Piazza, but he's a little older than me. (1 year)

But you live closer to the Hall of Fame than he does. That has to count for something.

I think having member birthdays pop up would be awesome. Side story about getting player birthdays off cards. I'll never forget a trip to the flea market in 1988. I saved up to buy a 1985 Topps Don Mattingly. $5. Took 5 weeks of allowance! On the way home, I was reading everything on the back from stats to copyright dates and I had to do a double take. I had bought the card ON his birthday. I've never forgotten that date since. I bought my favorite player's card on his birthday. April 20! Maybe not the coolest story in the world, but I thought it was applicable given the nature of the conversation!
