What's the consensus with the use of CL as a note for a card with "Checklist" as part of the name? My feeling is that it is redundant and not necessary. I've ran across several Hockey sets with this redundancy but the Notes were "locked" so I could not change it. I believe that the CL Note is to be used when the card is a checklist but not named as such. For example a Team Photo card (front) with a team checklist (back), and is likely may be named "City Nickname Team". The CL Note would be necessary to identify it as a checklist. However a card named "Checklist 1-132 " would not need the CL Note.

~Rob~ Hockey set collector including inserts, ERR, COR, VAR. Knowledgeable about 1968-69 to 1994-95 hockey. All 1990 and newer cards for trade are NRMT. Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

There are checklists collectors and it is needed for searching. Much like autograph, memorabilia, Manager, etc collectors. For example, go to this set 1968 Topps and click on the "CL" and all checklists cards (that are noted) will come up in a list.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Due to Admin recently (not so recently?) having the glossary notes link to the actual cards in the set, this is a method to allow users to find certain cards in subsets (and checklists are a subset) of the main set. Just like LL is redundant, and several others, CL is there to help identify and allow easier use of the site. So, please don't remove CL. I've been spending a lot of time adding them.

Also, on team's pages you can Filter by Note to find all the team's checklists.

It appears that the CL Note on Checklists is useful after all. Thanks for letting me know. I shall make sure any that I see are Noted correctly.

Whew ..... I've been adding them too. Glad to know they have a true purpose, I had just been doing what I had seen already locked down.
