I buy stuff from the 90s.. but mostly already completed sets. Not on a card by card basis.

I'm actually interested in 90's cards because the early 90's were about the time I got out of the hobby for a while. I got married in '92, had a couple kids, bought a house, etc. Now that the kids are off to college and the house is paid for so I can spend my money on fun stuff. In addition to putting sets together I also collect Cubs, and I quit in the early 90's for the aforementioned reasons, but also because there were simply too many cards to collect. Now I'm in the process of acquiring all those Cubs I missed out on over the last 20 years. Luckily, since the Cubs are generally terrible it makes collecting them a fairly easy task. No high priced rookie cards for hall-of-famers one has to worry about.

I didn't decide to
build sets until
about 2005, so that
has left me with a
lot of catching up
to do. I still had
some complete sets,
but I'd usually
trade or sell or
trade singles in
order to get Don
Mattingly items or
packs. This season
I'm working on
Heritage, Panini
Prizm, Bowman,
Archives and A&G. I
had planned on
working on Prizm
perennial Draft,
Bowman Draft,
Heritage Minors and
Topps Update, but
those plans are out
the window due to
money and health.
I'm going to devote
my little good time
to finishing what I
have. I almost have
my definitive set
needs list
completed and look
forward and hope to
do some trading to
fill those needs.

I guess it would
depend on what the
product is. 1990
Leaf,'92
Bowman, '93
Bowman, '93 SP, '93
Finest and '99
Bowman are all I
believe are worth
having. I must
admit I think '91
Bowman is a great
set. Dixxy wrote: so the 90's market is growing again?

I've mentioned here before that I am not a set builder. Now I must confess that I bought six sets at an antique mall this week. Small oddball sets, none over $4, but now my complete set total on here has jumped from 4 to 10.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Love the Fleer
oddball sets. Most
of them can be had
from $1-$5... and
that's awesome.

That's what I used
to do or actually
started to do as
well. $$$ really
has me needing to
trade badly. No
luck here so far
and I've gone as
far as making a
blog with all my
set needs. Now I've
added all the sets
I'm working on to
my TCDB collections
and am in the
process to adding
all my set needs to
my wants. mattmete22 wrote: i usually buy a few boxes to get most of the cards i need for the set, then the remainders i will just buy on ebay

sportlots is a good site to buy singles on if your local shop does not have.
