Baseball and Basketball are the two sports I follow and collect, with basketball being my #1 sport. With baseball season in its final stages (and sadly my Diamondbacks eliminated) I’m getting excited for the upcoming NBA releases. Like last year, I will probably get a hobby box of Hoops and blasters from target of anything else I can find. Prizm and Donruss have been my favorite recently.
I know many people on here collect baseball, and seems like a lot of hockey collectors as well. Who all here like to collect the NBA releases like myself?

I collect hockey and basketball but the latter is not very well distributed up here (e.g. "blaster" boxes are non-existent). I'll try to buy one box each of Hoops and Donruss and finish each set, but that was all I collected last season and most likely will be all I'll collect this season.

Basketball cards hard to find here, but I'm watching opening night right now. Kind of wish I wasn't; Gordon Hayward just broke his leg in case you missed it. Gruesome, like Paul George. Nonetheless, i love the NBA and can't wait to hit some games this season. I'm three teams away from seeing all 30 current teams in person.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

That was hard to watch. TNT is saying it's ankle only right now but it looked like the whole leg to me. the Cavs were close to if not in tears after seeing it, that's never a good sign.
Which three teams haven't you seen? That's pretty impressive. I have not seen any in person, despite how much I love the sport and how important it is to me.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I haven't seen the Nuggets, the Brooklyn Nets (saw N.J. though), and surprisingly, the Bulls. I live in downstate Illinois, but much closer to Indianapolis than Chicago. All but one NBA game has been at Indiana, with the other one in Boston.

I love to play basketball more than watch it. I watch a lot of NCAA basketball, but not much NBA. During the MLB NLCS game on TBS tonight, they said fractured ankle for Hayward. I also saw that on ESPN later. When I first read it, all I thought was "What a crappy way to start the season! Fractured ankle in the 1st quarter of the first game and probably out for at least 2 months." I fractured my ankle over 20 years ago and didn't get off crutches until about 6 weeks later and had to continue wearing the walking boot for another month after that. That was long before doctors started using screws and rods inside of people though.
Hearing you guys' response, I kinda don't want to see the video! My fractured ankle happened in a car wreck when my foot slid off the brake and slammed into the gas pedal. I had no body weight on it then, but did have to walk a couple hundred yards after the wreck to get help. The boot and crutches certainly made high school more interesting for the time between Halloween and Christmas.

The Hayward play happened literally the first play I saw after I flipped to the game.

I'm a basketball collector as well as baseball. I've only gotten into basketball cards in the last few years so my collection is and probably always will be heavily baseball. I'll certainly go for completing Hoops when it get released and likely will try to finish a couple other sets but haven't decided what yet.
The Hayward injury was pretty gruesome. I watched in slow motion and paused it. At first it just looked like his shoe had come partially off but then I could see his foot still in the shoe. Huge downer for him as I know he really wanted to make a bigger name for himself and expectations were high for the Celtics. Still high expectations and I suspect they finish in the top 3 in the east but this is a big blow.

Love basketball and the cards! I like the Panini Complete release and the Donruss. I also like Hoops but didn't get any last year. I'll probably try to get one this year.
