I'm about to make a purchase on Comc.com, but wanted to get input on strategies used in making offers - do you make it on individual cards, or as a whole order? And what basic rule of thumb do you use otherwise?

if you haven't made an offer before, just a heads up-- some people have their offers set on Auto Accept, some have a percentage of what to accept, and others have zero offers available. The percentage part works like -- if a card is advertised lets say for $1.00 and they have the Offer allowance set at 20%- this means that anything offered at .80c or higher they will get an email and anything less if will auto get rejected BUT it will also show you what they are willing to "deal" with an offer.
So, you can really send an offer for 1cent just to see their low limit and then offer that. Some people will accept it whereas others will counter for a couple extra pennies.
Like most others on here, if you see something on a site, email that person here first , you can most likely work a deal on it

So, are you vanessak99, Billy? My id is nostalgic. I'll send an offer shortly once I figure it out. And, just reject it.

I tried making an offer, but get a notice that says I have insufficient store credit. I must not have entered credit card info previously.

Unless something has changed, you actually have to have store credit in your account in order to make an offer.

You need to have at least what you are making the offer for - so if you offer 30 cents, you need to have 30 cents in your account. Basically, this means you need to have a penny in your account to "test" minimum offers.

I typically make offers on individual cards. My strategy is to offer 20% less than the asking price. On Comc you can crosslist your cards to Amazon and eBay and Comc will take a 20% cut so I figure people will be willing to take 20% off anyway

Okay, that's great to know, ketchup. I'll figure this out sometime before heading to the airport at 3:30 tomorrow morning. I've got a little more to spend if I am able to "save" 20%.
