I saw a "too good to be true" 1960 Bob Gibson for sale yesterday. Seller was 99% positive feedback, but all the negatives were "the card wasn't original," with seller rebuttal "you didn't read close enough." And one POSITIVE feedback was a disappointed buyer saying that his 1949 Mantle wasn't real but he likes it anyway???
I didn't bid on the Gibson.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Didn’t read closely enough? If the card is a reprint, it should be in the title, not in fine print. Smart choice not to bid.

That stinks. I hate when people do crap like that. Most people in the hobby, truly in the hobby, are good folks. The ones who are only in it to make a profit on Ebay though make us all look bad.
In a related story to stupid crooks, one person I know had their 1 of 1 get stolen...the theif listed it for sale on COMC. How dumb can you be? COMC pulled the listing but I lost track of the thread and didn't see what the final outcome was. The guy had a police report so I can only assume he got his card back, but I don't know if the stealer got in trouble.
-------------------------------
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. And his replies are all along the line of, "Immediate refund given, not much else I could do."
Um, you could have, you know, actually sent the card in the first place?

I wonder if that eBay name is related to the same person who has been banned from Beckett MANY times. I know there are many people on the planet with the name "Rob" that also collect or deal with cards. But the "shady dealings" sounds real familiar to me. This guy kept getting kicked off Beckett for never coming through on his side of cards AND/OR claiming he never received cards from the other person. But would then post those cards (his or the other person's cards) for sale on other sites. Then he started creating multiple UN's to try and do it more. I think at one point he was even trying to run a box-break scam. Since then, I've always been weary of any trader/seller with "robscards" or "robsvideos" anywhere in the UN.

I'm currently dealing with a seller who repeatedly says that he shipped an item despite the fact that the tracking number has shown for the past week that the item is in pre-shipment status. Luckily it is not that rare of a card and I'll likely get my money back when I dispute the case. Still it is frustrating

Well what do you know. The tracking number updated this morning. The package managed to travel all the way across the country without any scans. Strange. Happy to be getting my item but unsatisfied with the seller's lackluster communication
