I'm all for adding pricing into a level pass, say around six, as by then you are here for the long haul.

All these ideas are great. Anything that helps to getting rid of the lunacy. Like I said, I don't mind a little inaccurate, there is no "accurate" price, but there is definitely insane.

I have removed a LOT of "insane prices" over the course of the year. But I have to actually see them listed here to know they are insanely high. I don't go looking for them. The worst cases to me are when someone lists the same price several times to try to keep bumping the value to where they WANT it to be.

100% agree on that last statement. I was going through adding prices for some old 80's baseball junk and there would be 3 or 4 entries by a couple different individuals, all for $1 on every single $0.05 card. Very annoying. I've been using this site... https://cardbarrel.com/ to get prices from and adding them in spurts for various sets in my collection to try and bring them back into reality. They only have baseball cards, but it's a good reference for pricing on cheap commons.

Muskie027, I recall purchasing the Dallas Cowboys 2016 Donruss base set for $10.00 on Ebay, which included BOTH Elliott and Prescott. That was near the end of a Sunday/Monday Night Game where both players performed well in mid-November 2016. The next day none could be found for less than $20.00.
Later, in March 2017, I traded for another 2016 Dak Prescott Rated Rookie. It was the only card I received back in return for:
Definitely not valued at the $40.00 it was back then, nor the $29.98 it is now. Here in Texas I've yet to find it for less than $10.00, but since I'm not in the market for one I have no idea what I could negotiate it down to. Comc.com has it for a little as $10.25, while Sportlots.com has it for $9.00 NM and ungraded. On Ebay a lot of 5 Prescott #362 sold for $19.99 (+$4.75 shipping) and a single for $6.51 - both sales were on ungraded cards.
I'd go for anything that would give more credibility to the price option, else I'll opt out from using it.***
So for what it's worth, there's some valuation for anyone who's interested in the 2016 Donruss base (not Optic) cards.
***I trade regularly with a couple of guys who use the TCDB pricing faithfully and I'm okay with it as a standard as long as I don't find anything skewed and what I give up is equal in both our views.

Sportlots is only reporting (through Admin's arrangement with them) actual sold prices. The problem I have with them, is they have so many historical oprices, and some of them are too "outdated". I would agree that prices from Sportlots that are over 3 years old are irrelevant at this point and should not be included. But prices from the last year or two - fair game.

I know it's far beyond my capabilities, but wondering if it would be possible to populate accurate pricing data by hooking into a tool explicitly designed to retrieve recent sale prices from the major auction sites.
I picture a "retrieve recent sales" button that one could click while looking at an individual card record/page. It'll grab set/name/cardnum fields from tcdb, send a query to https://130point.com/cards/ (is there an api?), and return results (5 most recent/in the last 6 months/etc.) User could choose to include or reject outliers/parallels/incorrectly-titled listings.

Or just remember that the primary purpose of this site is NOT pricing. No reason to get wrapped around the axle about this when this site wasn't built to be a price guide.
