Please help me as my closet is overflowing with boxes with box bottoms and/or sides. LOL Just googled for 10 minutes and UGH nothing. First off does the entire box need to be saved, if not how do you remove them properly and then how should they be stored? Teach me oh Gurus ............ I need guidance in the ways of the box bottom!

just fyi, I have sold box bottoms. All have been cut away from the rest of the box. Naturally I try to leave as much excess on as possible so more trimming can done. For years, I kept the whole empty box, eventually that took up too much space. I then flattened them. Still took up too much space. So then I took the cutaway route. Others will differ.

I always cut the bottom off too. I didn't separate the cards from each other, in cases where there were 4-on-1, though I would prefer them that way if I had a method of having them cut perfectly straight. I can't stand clutter, so the other five sides of the box were garbage in my eyes, and needed to be disposed of.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

And...I see that an OPC Box Bottom set is now scanned at 100%, and Ranfordfan scanned the missing image on 12/30/17. So either he listened to you Joe, or he put the whole box on his scanner!

Can I pick B?
I am OCD too but I want the boxes I am keeping as original as possible so sadly I will be keeping them as is. I am leaning towards stripping away the excess on all the box doubles as well as the Blaster Boxes. They all have two card panels and they are harder to store than a hobby box!! They will become traders at some point and to ship an entire box is pricey and silly. Thanks for the tips guys I have never dealt with BBs before and didnt want to screw it up.

All my box bottoms are cut from the box. I've cut a few into individual cards to sell, trade, and for my PC.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I trim mine to the bottom only and put in a top loader that fits the card. Mostly 8x10 or in a page that is 8x10 for binders. Keep them in a seperate box

I don't know specifically about the box bottom cards, but I do have many boxes in my NASCAR collection. For the few products that I collect, examples of the boxes and pack wrappers are an important part of the collection to me. So far, every box I have come across could be deconstructed and flattened to fit in an 8x10 top loader without cutting or making any new folds. I then put them in sheet pages and display them at the front of the binder with the cards.

LIke NJDevils, I kept the whole box for a long, long time, and within the last couple years, decided to hack away so that I could put the box bottome in pages or display better. I cut about 1/4" up the 4 sides around the bottom with scissors, then using my wife's old paper-crafting paper cutter (she had a newer one I can't use for this stuff!), I cut on the bottom to just barely remove the crease from the edges, basically leaving the entire bottom intact, and cut very straight and smooth. It cleared out A LOT of space by doing that, despite the fact that I "nesting dolled" the boxes as much as possible.

I was digging a little to see what the best option is for box bottoms when I found this thread. After a quick look on Ebay, it looks like saving just the bottoms is the way to go... that is until I found a few auctions like this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/304574303274?hash=item46ea0b0c2a:g:KK0AAOSwTmxi3c6A
Does the checklist on the side of the box count as a card? Should it? I don't see any of these sold but I see a lot of them up for sale.
