I am looking on Ebay for random cards and came across some cards from this seller and need some advice. This seller has 100% rating and zero negative feedback and been a seller since 1999, so I feel safe buying from him, but the cards he's selling look really nice. Normally that's great, but these are some really old cards at some decent prices. Decent enough for me consider getting them. Some cards are from the 60's and some from the 1910's. I'm not pointing out specific cards because if my fears are eased, I might buy them and don't want someone else snatching them up. My fears though is a lot of people lately are pointing out how easy or tough fakes are being sold and it worries me. Here is his list of items for sale:

BTW, I'm not trying to endorse him or to shame him, I'm just showing his list to get opinions and ask would you all feel safe to buy cards from the seller. The oldest card I have is from the 60's and most are inherited so I've never really thought about fake cards much, but with these being so old I want to make sure I'm safe. Thanks in advance for all the replies.

Non-sports and basketball look good to me...only looked at some of the first page, but I might buy some from him if I remember in a few months after dealing with some medical bills.
Non-sports cards don't have the same rabid following that baseball and other sports do so you can pick up old stuff for really cheap sometimes. Way, way less than any sports card of the early days.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Some beautiful non sports stuff there. I found my brother's birthday present!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Great, thanks for the advice. Good thing I didn't say which ones I wanted, they might be bought before I get the chance to buy them.

The embossed look good. I have some here in better condtion so I would not worry about them being forged. Mind also have some of the same vertical lines. As far as a low price, when I put things on Ebay that I know will definitely sell, I start them at a low price. I am nor sure if EBAY still does this but years ago, your rate was sent on how high of a minimum you put down so everyone tried to start the bidding under that minimum.

He does have a lot of nice stuff. At first I thought he was one of those guys that only sells stuff that is in the better conditions, but he does seem to have some poor old cards as well as the incredibly great shaped ones.
The only thing I tend to avoid is his "pick one or more" listings. Years ago Ebay didn't allow those type of listings. It makes sense for items like clothes with the same item in different sizes or different colors, (for which they started to allow that type of listing) but for trading cards I get a little leary. I also tend to cling to the older rules of Ebay and am slow to adapt to some of their changes.

I see good feedback for him in another group that I am in that is more vintage focused, so I would go ahead

Actally, I like the new "pick one or more" auction listings that have the actual list built into the listing, those work nicely. I don't like the ones like this that are 'place your bid and email about the ones you want' type.
