So it's finally happening; the Pirates are finally trading McCutchen away. Unfortunately, he gets to go to the Death Valley of right-handed hitters aka AT&T Park. Just the place he wants to go right before free agency. Great guy and player and hope he adjusts to the environment. Better cast around him that's for sure.

I think he’ll be fine. And the Giants will be much improved.

If he's as good a hitter as he has shown, he'll adjust. Value doesn't only exist in the HR column.

A man has to have goals — for a day, for a lifetime — and that was mine, to have people say, "There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived."

Oh, I wasn't thinking HR. He's a hitter, not a basher and never went after HR totals. I'm hoping he can adjust and use that big OF to his advantage. He's smart enough to do it after all. Historically though, that park has chewed up RH hitters.

As a Diamondbacks fan, this makes me a little nervous. They are more than likely both past their primes, but I have an unsettling feeling he and Longoria are going to help that SF offense. Something about even years also. Still more concerned with LA and Colorado of course though.

Similarly and conversely, I'm happy to see that Pittsburgh is officially in rebuilding mode. That's a few more wins for the Cubs and one less competitor to worry about.

Seems like a lot of teams are giving their stars away at a very low price. First the Tigers and now the Pirates.

And of course the Marlins traded away almost 90 home runs... fortunately my Cardinals got some of that. Don't look now, but I wouldn't be shocked to see one more big name move to St. Louis before the season starts.
