Once again, I have found a flaw in the organization of part of my collection, this time my HOF / Player collection. In a couple of recent trades, I had trouble locating a couple of cards of stars that I knew I had doubles to trade. One trade had to go without a couple of the cards (large 400 card trade); the other I had other cards in a different location that I took one out of. But I did find it frustrating and itled me to once again refine the organization of my cards. The big problem was that I had traders in two different locations, boxes with top loaders and plasic sheets in binders. I am now putting everything in 4000-count boxes without top loaders. I have made it through the F names (no not what switzr is thinking). It will be a longprocess but should makelife easier for future trades.
But it also made me reflect on what this site has meant to me beyond a community of fellow collectors. Since I became a member, my set collection has been reorganized and isalso now in the process of being put into binders so that I can enjoy them more (thanks V3 as I often read your post about taking the time to look at your card collection - difficult to do if in boxes). My commons traders are all very well organized for easy pulls. My HOF / player collecction had already had one reorg but now through this site, I am refining it.
Then there is all of the knowledge I have gained from other members through the forum, identifying cards, differing variations and errors, etc. Many have mentioned that this site refreshed their enjoyment of the hobby. I can easily add my name to the long list of members. Admin and all of the members who continue to contribute, thanks so much.
Oh, by the way, my player cards are still all organized by year, company and #. And yes, Fleer Ultra follows Fleer and Fleer Flair, Leaf Studio follows Leaf, Topps Stadium Club comes after Topps and Topps Finest, and Upper Deck SP follows Upper Deck and Upper Deck Collector's Choice. Just had to throw that out there.
