Finally found some tonight I bought a $5 jumbo pack. Two Cardinals. A Wainwright Silver Slugger, and a Diaz (who was traded to Blue Jays). A few cards with RC logo, interesting to me only as the first cards I happen to own of those players, whether they are truly RCs or not. Also my first pack of 2018 Topps WWE Road to Wrestlemania, which was actually more fun to look at.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

There are no "a" suffixes on the "a" versions of the variation cards. This issue got me called a hot head, a few years back. I will remove myself from the conversation, so as not to offend anybody.

The "a" version is the base version. Since I didn't edit them, they do not have the proper notation to get a letter next to the number. (Remember, the letter does NOT go directly in the number field.)
Personally, I don't think they should have an "a", but we'll have to see what Admin decides to do.
Adding these variations has taken me all night (I've been at it for over 2 hours, and still not done).

I'm going through my jumbo box and there are a LOT of miscut cards. I wouldn't be surprised if I have a whole pack's worth.
EDIT: When I made this post I had just gone through 10 cards in a row that were badly miscut. Fortunately, it was an anomoly as those were the only ones I found. All told, it was only 2% of the box (500 cards) so it could have been worse. I'll be requesting replacements from Topps, which unfortunately means more time and money on my part to get my cards.

I finally got my box the other day and my son came over tonight to help me open it. I'm sure it has been said before, but WTH. Topps has gotten completely lazy here. Okay, so reference.... I came across my Devers card and looked at the back. No '17 stats for the majors, just an * and his minor league stats. He was in the majors for 2 months and accumulated more than just a handful of AB's. So how it it he only get minor league stats listed even though they make reference to his MLB season in the writeup. I looked at some of the other RC's and same thing. So for comparisions sake I pulled Bellinger's card and looked. They listed his '17 stats in whole (and yes, I know he played the majority of the year in the majors). Looked at his '17 card and only MiLB stats listed, which should be the case. Anyhow, how can the rookies not have their MLB stats listed? Happ played more than token minutes so what gives?! Some of them talk about achievements in Sept and everything. Sigh....
Sorry, rant over...

I have now bought 1 blaster box, 1 fat pack, and 3 packs worth of series 1, and no luck on finding the two cards I really want, the Hays and Sisco RCs.

Topps has been doing this single MiLB stat line for RC for about 15 years now. Yes, it is annoying.

Been out of the Hobby for a little longer than that so I never noticed. This was my 1st Topps box since 2000 or 2001.

And I whined about this very problem in another thread. Sigh. Lazy indeed.

I honestly think that Topps wants to trick uninformed speculators into thinking these guys have never played. The type who may glance at a stat line looking for MLB numbers, but have never actually read the back of a card before.
