Wondering whats everones opinon on selling on COMC. I from time to time I sell from my personal collection on ebay, Recenty a friend of mine gave me boxes and boxes, I mean like 8 moving style boxes of cards someone was going to literally dump in the trash. I have went through 1 show box so far that was in one of the boxes and have stacks of Shaq, Kobe and Vince Carter cards so far, from rookie till recent. I read up on COMC and love that I can just send these cards to them and they do all the footwork, scanning and posting. Anyone sell on COMC? Good thing?

I never figured that site out.  Seems way overpriced to me (like extremely overpriced).  Maybe others know some shopping tricks that I don't about it.  

selling on comc can be good, depending on what you have.

there are probably others that sell more than I do there.

when I do get ready to send something in, I look it up to make sure how many are already in stock of the one you have.

if there are several already on the site, it could sit there forever without selling

may be a good way to sell some rc and some inserts, but commons, not so much

there are a lot of threads about them from the past so you may want to search forums for more info

i do both.. i buy and sell on there.. like any other site, they have their pro's and cons and it all depends on what your goal is as far as buying or selling. i sell on there and ebay.. others sell on there, ebay, sportslot and cardbarrel at once.. and also buy from all sites. 

My problem with COMC is the upfront cost of selling.  The nice thing is that they do everything for you.  However, it's not a good money-making site.  You have to think of it as an extended trade.  You will get money into your account, but since it takes so much money to cash it out, you (or I, at least) mostly end up spending it on cards on the site. 

I misread the initial question and answered as a buyer opposed to as a seller.  I tend to get hooked on a site as a buyer first before transitioning to a seller.  I am a devoted buyer and seller on Ebay.  I am a devoted buyer on Sportlots, but haven't transitioned to selling there.  If I ever do, it'll certainly be a while because mostly everything I had for sale went up in flames.  

I have been buying there for years.  I have only sent in one shippment.  20% was sold in two weeks Then it slowed down and the last card sold in just under being there for a full year.  So be picky on what you sent in.  I was doing only football and was told that basketball and baseball does alot better then football.  You can sell on E-bay and Amazon though COMC but it cost you another 20%.  A lot of sellers have rised their price to take in that 20%.   Yes there  are a few guys that they prices WAY to high.  Just do not understand why.

If you price your cards on any site they will sell.  All the sites I buy off of has Pro and Con.  Just figure out what works the best for you.  It may be trial and error.   Pick out a 100 cards and sent them in.  It will cost you $30.00 and a few months before you can price them for sell.

COMC is the only site I will sell on. I was a Hardline nonseller for my first 28 years in the hobby but then I had so much fun buying on there, I figured that other people might enjoy buying my duplicates more than I enjoyed just storing them. 

So far I've sent in 200 cards, sold 80...and bought more than 800. Every time one sells I usually buy another within 24 hours, lol. I originally planned to save up what I got for selling and get an Eminence card, but that lasted about 5 minutes until I found some card I had to have. 

Each and every card on there is priced by the seller, so saying it's overpriced is just wrong, for the most part. I've purchased autographs for under 30 cents, for example. There are SOME sellers who have insane prices, sure, but you can find that anywhere. There are a couple I won't buy from because of their pricing. 

One thing that is true...they don't always have full details listed, especially for NASCAR and Non-sports. There are mislabelings (wrong year) and question marks in place of a person's name. Sometimes I've found cards that I ended up purchasing just by pure luck. They also list some cards that are not numbered as serial numbered. They also have not fixed them when I have sent corrections. 

The best thing about COMC is that you can build orders over a long time and then pay one flat shipping fee, a very reasonable$3.99 no matter how much you are shipping, and sometimes you can get it for free. If you have them ship 100 cards in s month they give you $5 for free on the 1st of the next month as well. I've completed about 25 sets on there, got cards as old as 1895 and as rare as 1/1.

Right now I have 12,142 items for sale on COMC.  That includes cards and comics.  I look at it like this, I made an initial $50 investment in 2012 to get my initial store credit.  I have not purchased any store credit since then.  I built my port up slowly at the begining and now have enough credit that I can send in pretty big lots whenever I want. 

I would much rather sell cards on COMC than ebay.  The reason being is I don't have to deal directly with overly picky/shady buyers, I feel there is a bit more protection from the sellers point of view compared to ebay.

RoundtheDiamond87, Comc seems really overpriced for base cards, but I find some really good deals there for inserts, at least when it comes to nonsport cards.
