Tirade aside, would photos like those in uPp's post (if at sufficiently high resolution and closely cropped) not be suitable for the purposes of tcdb?
I love the site, understand all the benefits of scans, and of course we don't need to see photos with peoples' undershirts or feet, but I always shake my head a little at the "scanner snob" community that sometimes pervades.

And i thought it was just me, but apparently not.

Admin's rules plain and simple. He wants scans, period. Everyone is just trying to hold up that standard. Has nothing to do with being a "snob". Admin wants high quality images on his site; it's his right.

Totally fair.  I prefer the quality and consistency of scans too, and I've contributed some, but I find scanning/rotating/cropping images to be very time consuming.  For me, the hassle threshold is too high.

I'm sure there are others besides myself who would be willing contribute high-resolution, well-cropped, shadow-free photos on a regular basis, especially of rare parallels and variants, but maybe there's another objective, besides documenting and sharing images of cards with other members.

I've uploaded hundreds of images over my time here, this is the only one I know that needs replacing. I knew it wasn't the best, but there it is anyway. For this one, it's in a Panini sealed case, so I didn't want to break the seal, hence the out of focus style. So I'm appreciative of keeping this image there as an example. However, if someone wants to scan it better, have at 'er.
