As i am entering cards for trade approx. 2,500 I came across about 100 or so that does not have values. Question is do you use Beckett values or some other means or do the values have to come from the Admin?

Do not use Beckett values. We don’t want to be accused of copying from them. Enter actual prices you have paid or that can be verified thru sites such as eBay.

With all due respect to those that spend time entering values into cards here, the numbers entered have next to no meaning. Every member of the site can add values to a card and there is no vetting done to ensure the accuracy of those values.
Click on the median price for a card, submit a price, and voila it appears on the site.

Many of us like the value feature and spend a lot of time entering pricing and cleaning up ridiculous amounts that have been entered. Yes there is no vetting process and it would take a lot of time to do so. Like all features on this site whether we use them or not we still rely on the member community to enter accurate data. If you don’t like it I believe there is an option to turn that feature off.

I didn't do a very good job in noting that I, myself, enter values on occasion. Almost every eBay auction I participate in I'll come here and add an auction value following the conclusion of the auction.
I just don't think anyone sbould be using the values entered here in isolation. A good starting point, sure, but dangerous when used by itself.

Just enter your own prices as you go along takes a little research but worth it, ebay sold items is a good way to get a decent average of what cards are worth. Doing it that way they wont change when someone enters a price on here.
Ive seen prices on here for 20c, 40c, 50c and seen them sell on ebay for a minimum $3 on ebay. Dont trust the pricing on here at all and worse thing people using that pricing for there trade lists. People on here asking $25 for a card on there trade list that only sells everywhere for $5 is one example and it goes the other way too asking 50c and its worth $3 ect.
The pricing on here is not a guide to what cards are worth, far from it. Also you have to base in condition of your cards also.

Agreed. If I’m on eBay I pop over here to check if I have the card first of all, and second to get a general idea on value. And as you showed you can drill down to see what most people have entered or compare recent prices to older ones, when someone was a rookie and their card was probably at a much higher price.

I have evntered a handful of prices lately and I always use eBay sold prices, not asking prices. There have been the occasional price that I entered for what I paid on COMC but otherwise I do not use listed prices on eBay or COMC because people can ask any price even though it may never sell.

Exactly Corky, you can ask what you like or say a card is worth this much. In reality its only worth what someone will pay for it and the biggest online place when millions are sold a week is ebay. To me thats the best place to see a current value average of what someone will pay for it...
Prices will change based on trends, current players exceeding themselves ect. Even older cards to an extent due to a shortage in better condition cards ect.
Also you go on raw value for a card, not that it could potentially grade a 10.
What if it dont grade a 10 if you was to grade cards, as i dont care what anyone says you aint no expert and have the correct equipment tools to say yes thats a 10 lol.. Yes you can say its pretty darn centered, no creases/stains/marks and the corners are sharp, but as for the rest of it you havnt a clue. You can pull a card out a pack today and the edge wont grade a 10 or the surface ect.

I enter prices whenever I sell something. But as everyone has stated, the prices are arbitrary. A few people have put in multiple high prices for whatever reason. So whatever price you see here, take with a grain of salt.
