While I was adding the 1954 Red Heart set the cards for Gus Bell, Ted Kluszewski and Roy McMillan show the team as Cincinnati Redlegs, which is how I listed them on the checklist but I intended to link the cards to the Reds but when I did a team check it seems that the Redlegs has a different TID than the Reds. I know the Redlegs was a short term name change due to McCarthysim during the 50s and then went back to the Reds. Shouldn't they be listed as the same team?

I would say yes, but am not as wise in the ways of the site as I should be. But this will bump this higher so a truly wise person will see it.

Or Oakland Seals with California Seals and California Golden Seals.

Or Capital Bullets, Washington Bullets, Washington Wizards together. Many examples of team name changes. It's an Admin issue to deal with and decide.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

They were literally the Cincinnati Redlegs, so they should be listed as the Redlegs, not the Reds. Its not for us to rewrite history. Same as the Devil Rays/Rays.

A man has to have goals — for a day, for a lifetime — and that was mine, to have people say, "There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived."

I know we've all been down this path before, and I can't really argue against the points just made, but if I were a Reds collector, I'd want the site to tell me how many total Reds AND Redlegs cards I had together. Could be an unsolvable problem, though. I'm just glad that the Cubs have kept their team name for last 100+ years, although the White Stockings thing in the 1800s doesn't help me....

I see your point v3, but my feelings are just the opposite. I prefer to see my Oakland Seals cards separate from my California Seals cards and deffo not mixed in with my Golden Seals. All personal preference I reckon.

One possible solution would be to link the different team names (TIDs) much like we link multi-sport player's different sports PIDs. But also add a filter to filter by "Team Name". So collectors who, say, want all the Wizards cards together (Capital Bullets, Washington Bullets) can have that. And those who don't, can filter to the team name they want to see.
