When editing names, there is now the option to edit the PID field. Each name in the database has a PID assigned to it that serves as a unique identifier. You can find the PID for a particular name by navigating to the person's page and checking the URL. The PID are the digits after "/pid/" in the URL. Example:
http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Person.cfm/pid/6596/Charles-Barkley
This should help solve difficulties associated with linking players with the same name. For example:
http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Person.cfm/pid/3055/Pat-Kelly-OF
http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Person.cfm/pid/49298/Pat-Kelly-MG
If the card was associated with Pat Kelly the outfielder and it needed to be associated with Pat Kelly the manager, you would change the PID from 3055 to 49298.
Thanks,

Call me crazy but I have no more cards to scan, so I was planning on working on seperating Chris Young the OF and Chris Young the pitcher. They are mixed under the name Chris Young, but also have cards listed as Chris B Young and Chris R Young.
Should I just edit the PID # or change the name also?

capsboy, in that particular case, either method would work.
A new report has been added to the Collection Summary pages by Person and Team which lets you see how your collection ranks among the other site members collecting that person or team. Thanks to Deightr1 for suggesting this feature.

This ranking feature is awesome. Not only can I see that I have the biggest Christy Hemme collection on this site, but I can also laugh at the people who have the biggest Justin Bieber collections on this site. I love it!!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

In addition to being able to edit card numbers, I'll just go ahead and request the ability to edit set names & dates. This is mainly because of all the errors I'm making as I quickly backfill all the missing Japanese sets, and it would ultimately save the Admin my bombardment of "please fix my mistakes" emails.
I would also like to request an "alias" option for players who go by more than one name, or who might have multiple spellings that are frequently used (loads of Japanese players whose names start with, or end with, the letter 'O', can usually be found both with and without an "H" following the "O". That leds to lots of instances of "Takahiro Saitoh" vs "Takahiro Saito" or "Keiji Ohbiki" vs "Keiji Obiki". There are also instances where Taiwanese players use their actual name in the CPBL, but a modified version of it in Japan, such as Dai-Kang Yang (CPBL) vs Daikan Yoh (NPB) or Tai-Yuan Kuo (CPBL) vs Taigen Kaku (NPB). Somewhere in the background, you've already taken care of a few of these, like Karl Rhodes vs Tuffy Rhodes.
Thanks!

974 Hall of Famers have now been flagged in the database across Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, and Racing. A "Hall of Famers" link has been added to every set in those categories which generates a list of all of the Hall of Famers who appear in the set. A "HOF" notation appears next to those who are Hall of Famers when browsing by Names, and you can also browse Hall of Famers from team pages. Thanks to bunker for suggesting this feature.
The Collection Summary link has also been added to the navigation on set pages. Thanks to Billy Kingsley for suggesting this.

Awesome. I've always kept my hall of famers in a separate binder. But baseball is the only sport (besides wrestling) where I know who is in the HOF without having to look up certain guys. This will help with other sports for me.
I don't know how much work is involved, but if I provided a list, could you do the same for the WWE Hall of Fame in wrestling cards? If it's a lot of trouble and nobody else cared, it's not a big deal. Of course this could get confusing when you consider that Pete Rose is in the WWE HOF but not the baseball!
