Wow those are some interesting additions. Locking sets is a good idea so that we do not have to repair things over and over again. I like the fact that only those with the highest Permissions is allowed to do it.

Yeah, that's some heavy stuff there. I can think of a few situation where we need some clearer guidance before we start locking things down. I'm sure that Admin will still be able to modify or unlock entries if need be, but still....

Great new features as now we know the work the dedicated members do on this site will not be altered by someone else's whim. So I thought I would give it a go on a few of the 47,000 baseball sets that I am familiar with. I have so far runinto one small issue that may be possible to "fix" should Admin wish to do so - when validating the set, in the box that shows the brand, number of cards, card size, etc. if the card size wasnot entered, it is possible for the member validating the set to enter the size but if it was already entered, the member cannot correct it. For example, the 1970 Topps posters have a size entry of "Standard size" which I believe is for cards that are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". The posters are 8 11/16" x 9 5/8".
If we are going to validate all of the information for a set before locking it, it would be nice to include the correct size of the items. I sent an inaccuracies report to Admin but we could save a lot of Admin's time if we could also edit this item.

Previously when I've seen "BASE:" written into a Note2 field this causes that card to show up in the ERR/VARs. I don't know if this is intentional or not but I would think that the base cards should not be showing up in the variation list

Two quick questions about the secondary card number field (which is a great idea BTW):
1. I entered letters in the secondary number field for a couple cards that have BASE/VAR in their respective Note2 fields. After I entered the letters (a, b, c, d) I did not see them displayed anywhere on the card page or in the checklist. Are the letters suppose to show up somwhere?
2. Is there any way to expedite this process when uploading checklists or will we have to do it manually? Maybe there can be a column in our Excel checklists for secondary card numbers.

So what happens when a member validates incorrect information and locks down a set? There are still members who think NNO1, NNO2, NNO3, etc are valid card numbers. And are still uploading checklists with these numbers. I think I can see Admin doing a lot more work unlocking or making changes themselves.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

1. Refresh the checklist page - They are there (if you want, check the 1981 Fleer baseball set, I did that one yesterday).
2. I sure hope that's the next announcement. :)

Hopefully, these members that are unaware of the procedures here (to that degree) are not Level 7 or Level 8. If so, Admin may be doing a lot of "unlocking" sets.
PS: If you see anyone uploading sets with NNO1, etc., please drop them a friendly reminder e-mail. I do that when I see something amiss in the Note fields.

Once again the Admin has come through. Always nice to see changes made to the site and validation processes are being worked also.
I believe that will only make this site better.

Number validation is going to be a huge undertaking.
