got to thinking about a post the other day with buying or trading for cards that you already owned but overlooked it or didn't realize it. I find myself doing that quite often too and then hoping either to trade off on it or sell and hope to get my money back- with that sometimes getting the wrong card.
So- what if on the drop down menu of a spefic card for details (where it has Add Another to Collection, Add Another to For Sale/ Trade, Add Multiple, etc)((sorry my pic image isn't loading)) we were to add "Ordered" or "In Transient"-
If you use the Add to Collection and haven't recieved the card yet, it places it in the Missing Scans catergory and can possilby lose track of what you have ordered.
Having a Order or In Transient check box doesn''t place the card in the Missing Scans category and especially if you're ordering or expecting mulitple cards to arrive from different vendors you could easily sort by that function for that set- and keep better track of what you're expecting to get in also taking it out of your Wantlist so you don't order again. - just a thought.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly, but they already do have an option of adding a card to In-Transent. I use it all the time for cards I win on Listia or buy on COMC. Once I win or buy then I go to my wantlist and have the option of adding them to In-Transent.

Billy.. glad you mentioned that becuase the view i was looking at didn't have the "In-Transient" option, however on the SET set view it does. if you go to the individual cards themselves, it won't have the In Transient, but the listing of the entire set your viewing will. I'm def gonna have to try that out- it never really crossed my mind about that before

So, I noticed another name error. Travis Dawkins is in the database as Gookie Dawkins. Since Gookie is a nickname and not his official name nor the name on the cards, I was wondering if this needed to be corrected. There are quite a few cards listed as Gookie and not as Travis Dawkins (no name in the database at all for Travis Dawkins). In fact Travis Dawkins is listed in the alias section and the full name section for Gookie Dawkins. If this is indeed incorrect, I was wondering if Admin could fix this issue since there are more than a few cards listed incorrectly. Just wondering, is there a way to do this myself and I am just missing it or is that a power better left to Admin?

The way the database is set up is that any set moving forward that gets added whether it be with Travis or Gookie as the first name for Dawkins, it will link to that PID (so all Gookie and Travis cards will be under the same person). What I do see is a lot of his cards in our system with the wrong name - if the card has Travis on the card, the listing for that set should be Travis as well. You can change them (depending on your permission levels). If what you're saying is the PID listing should be "Travis" and not Gookie, then that is an Admin thing, since they would have to switch the main name with the alias.
But, otherwise, the database is set up correctly - there should be no Travis Dawkins listed if Gookie Dawkins is. Likewise, if we change the listing in the database to be Travis, the listing for Gookie must go away.

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 3/4/2024). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned on (details are in my profile).

Suggestions
1) The site needs an app, where you can add cards to your collection from your phone, update prices while at stores, and scan directly into the app using PrintScan from Google.
2) There should be an option to add dublicates to your For Sale/Trade List

Duplicates to for sale / trade is already there. If you are in the 'update collection' option, hover the mouse over the action icon and select 'Add Another to For Sale / Trade'. You can do that multiple times. Alternatively, you can use the 'add multiple' link and type in the number of duplicates that you have of that card. Just be sure to change the drop down from the default 'Collection' to read 'For Sale / Trade' or it will add all of those duplicates to your regular collection. (You can also do this for multiples on a want list using the same drop down.)

Sorry, I meant from the "Your Collection" Screen, add an option to "Add duplicates to Collection"

The thing is vrooomed, the correct listing should be Travis Dawkins as Gookie is purely a nickname and almost ALL of his cards have him listed as Travis Dawkins. Someone put his main profile in the database as Gookie Dawkins. If I hadn't come across a card that had been linked to Gookie Dawkins because it is a dual player card, I wouldn't have any idea that they were the same player. That is why I think the main profile for Gookie Dawkins should be converted to Travis Dawkins. I understand that it should catch both because of the alias setting now, but it is absolutely incorrect since I was under the impression that we wanted to have players named accurately based on the cards and besides, doing a little research would have found that Gookie Dawkins is really Travis Dawkins and that is how he should have been entered into the database originally. Yes, I know that some guys like Babe Ruth aren't entered by their real names, but at the same time, their cards predominately refer to them by their more common nickname.

I agree with both of you, nothing more frustrating when a player is entered like that, I have had a few hockey players where I have had to add the "proper" name into the alias field to make it link, funny thing is its not an alias ............ its thier name!! DOH. Will send to Admin from here on out.
