During the recent thread on photos vs nothing at all near the end Slug03 asked how to add personal images to his collection only. I went to respond and the realized....I couldn't remember how to do it. I've gone to detail add on a cards page trying to "recreate" it (as I have done it many times before adding my TTM and non-certified autos for this list https://www.tradingcarddb.com/List.cfm/lid/1703/Detroit-Tigers-Non-Certified-Autos?C=5

A few reasons for posting this thread

1) It is driving me nuts I can't figure this out as I've done it many times before

2) Answer to Slug03's question

3) It occurs to me that all the "I have xxx player with xxx's player stats on the back." OR "My card is missing the gold foil. It is an error" requests in the IRs can be satisified by members detail adding to their collections thereby documenting their cards and not messing with the database.

1. Go the set where the card is located

2. Add/Update

3. Use the dropdown menu on the card you want. On the bottom it says View/ Add image

You can't do this from the individual card page

You can also do this on a player page

and when you do this I found that when you post on your card that it defaults as the card you will see on checklist and  collection  pages 

When I buy a card from COMC i download the images to help remember I have them to the cards ADD/UPDATE option.  I swap front and back so it stands out but it reminds me where the card is and I dont keep looking for it here or to buy another.

Other members do not see it 

If you have more then one of the same card and load them all,  the one you load  is the one you see.  I have done this to SNed cards were I loaded all 3 or 4 either my scan or from COMC   I have there permission as long as I keep waternmark

Yes, me too, I’ve been there too. Can personal scans be seen by only me.? However, they can be viewed in a user list?

If you add it, others can see it  on the cards page  and who has card in collection.  like this one  after my name in the IN TRANSACTION section

I did this for a couple to allow trader see condition or is this the card they want if a variation

Bumping this thread because I just learned this was a thing! It came up in a recent thread and it might be useful for people to see how it's done. Also, I might have to do this on the horribly creased cards I keep for nostalgia

I use it to show vintage cards during trades as we all know the early years quality of Topps cards and mis cuts

Shoot, This is the best thing ever. It allows me to see different in person autos if I need to. Thank you for sharing!
