Good Morning All!
After such a positive forum last night I was just surprised to see that several prices I submitted from 2019 up through August 2020 were all "Rejected". This would be embarrassing if I hadn't submitted more than my fair share and not once has anything been flagged. The link section for adding a price wasn't in the submission area back in 2019 or I would have certainly placed one there. However, as a general rule, ebay does not keep their links active indefinitely once an item has sold so my links for cards that were purchased on eBay and the 2019 Prizm Nolan Ryan in particular was purchased BY ME back in August and I know what was paid. There is a link and connected with the price but it now goes to an ebay apology page instead of the original listing because it has been over 90 days since purchase/payment. I also realize errors can be made and accidents happen but I always ask questions when in doubt and I double check my links.
I am sorry for being on the defense but if I am randomly being "auditted" does everyone have to keep a log of every price they entered with links and make sure the links are still active on a weekly basis? I know that isn't the case but doesn't this change my "Score" with the database? I was just starting to become more active with submitting scans etc but perhaps I need some assistance.
Also, I'd have sent a private message and asked but there is no way of knowing who is telling me my price is wrong nearly three years after I entered it. I amndeleting them as the cost has decreased since the release but we know that happens and it wasn't likebI added a $120 price for a $2 card.
I hope I didn't offend anyone, back to work- not sure if it isnstill third shift or back at first yet :/
Thanks for any advice- Becky Elizabeth Besimmons1981@gmail.com

The rejections are because the links don't work anymore. If you submit current ones with a link, they should be accepted with no problem.
What was paid 2-3 years ago isn't really a true indicator of what's being paid now, and the site has had issues with the Pricing feature being abused, so they now require links to sites where they were actually purchased, not what a store or seller wants for their cards.

Just another reason why database "Pricing" should be eliminated.
If I want to keep track of a price I paid or the price I'm asking, I put it in my Card Details.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Why is it that every time anyone asks a question about pricing someone has to chime in with how bad the system is. There are people on here making an effort to make it better. It may not be perfect but it's improving.
Now to the op's question. If I read it right you submitted the prices in 2019 and now they are being rejected? That seems odd. A link to and auction is helpful but per the guidelines not required. If there are comps and the price submitted is within the range of the comps it should be accepted. There are some folks who approve prices that don't feel that way though. I have had to contact admin before because someone was rejecting valid prices just because there was no link.
I would send the admin and message and see if they can help you out.

Pricing only causes a disturbance in the force. Eliminate pricing and it will be the first step towards peace on earth.

I understand that Ed but I have put links on everything since that policy started and I have submitted a lot and everything has been fine. My question was how am I supposed to remember that I need to add a new link for something entered a few years ago? If it doesn't impact my rating or ability to use the site then I guess it doesn't matter.
I have seen what you're talking about where there are 15 prices in a row for the same amount on one card and I completely understand needing rules and regulations. I was simply caught off guard with multiple negative emails all at once when A- I've never seen one prior and B- I take pride in whatever I "work" on and wouldn't try to "scam" the site. I don't recall there being a spot for a URL price link before this latest form.

The only thing it will affect is how quickly you'd be able to self approve pricing. If you have enough of a track record in submitting accurate pricing you will be able to skip the approval process.

I do believe that any request to remove prices now goes through Admin's hands, so you should use the "Contact Us" link (under General Info below), and follow the prompts to get to the proper area to contact Admin directly about the issue. Include links to the card/pricing area as a means of expediting the research needed. Unfortunately, the rest of us can only guess as to what happened or why someone requested removal of a price you entered more than a year ago. Having had many interactions with you over the years, *I* know you're not out to scam the site or others. The member behind this may have been new and/or didn't truly grasp the concept behind this. Crowd-sourcing is a double-edged sword. It's fantastic for getting a ton of work done very fast, however, there always seems to be a percentage (no matter how small that is, it only takes 1) that doesn't follow the group, rules, or thinks they know better, and messes up their portion of the work. I always try to err on the side of "lack of knowledge" than "willful malevolence".

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 3/4/2024). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned on (details are in my profile).

I'm at the point where I can self approve my prices. I do not go out a look for prices of cards that are sold. I just add prices I pay for cards I buy not what I sell. My sell prices are low as i'm getting rid of stuff and have no link.
I have not added prices to about 500 cards I have and links to them. The links to them are from Sportlots. The reason is some of the links do not work when added but they work when I link on them on the Spotylots site. Plus the links are to more then one card it is the whole order. This also goes with COMC as some link go away after I have them sent to me. I have asked COMC why some links are show when others do not. They tell me they are looking into it. (6 months ago) At this time I do not know how many link are still active.

You can turn it off. Over 70% of people here do have it off or just don't bother using it.
If you do the math it's impossible to fix it one card at a time. Plus how are people to know what one is right and you could be out of date in less than a year.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)
