I have never felt I needed to warn anyone about a trader from the site until now. The person in question and I made 2 trades, He had all positive feedback from traders I have dealt with. so I thought what the heck. Trades were made and sent. When I opened the trades after they arrived Every cards had Corner damage except one. A couple had creases and one looked like it was put on gravel and drove over as it had a dozen or so dents in it. So i expressed my displeasure with the person and he says , these cards are in exact shape they should be for being from 1992+ 95. and that if I was expecting better I should have asked?????
When is it up to the person trading to wait for the the other person to ask what condition the cards are in? I myself list any & all problem with any of the cards before the deal is made. . So I asked him what he wanted to do about this problem and he says I am being deceptive if I think we should send back the cards or he should pay for the MINT cards I sent him & If i pout a bad feedback he will tell everyone I am lying. So gee what to do ? Good thing I film all of the trades for my YouTube channel.
Here is the link to the video we made of the cards he sent. https://youtu.be/MrBVez9jpVk

I have a current trade going with this member for cards from the same timeframe so we'll see how the cards are that I receive. He did indicate after accepting the trade that one of the cards he was planning to send was not in good condition so he would replace it with something else from my wantlist. I don't have high hopes after viewing your video.

Cards from the 80's and 90's should be in mint - ex-mint. I have tons of extra in those years. I pull the damaged ones out and put them in a box together. I stand by the fact that if you want mint cards you should be trading mint cards. So as I am redoing my collection and consolidating my doubles and other sports cards I take all the lesser grade oout and eventually give them to a little league place and let the kids go through and take what they want.

The other user is incorrect, for I generally expect cards from '85 to today to be in NrMt shape given how many have been made as well as the added awareness of collectors over that time. It is true that some collectors don't care about what condition cards are in as long as they get them, but one should never presume what other traders expect. For example, when I first started trading here I thought that no one really cared all that much about periods or no periods... but some truly do care.
Once again, it's all about communication. Don't assume anything. Don't be in a rush to send cards without hearing from the other user first about any issues that you think may come up once the cards are received. I could say that each of you may wish to add a note in your profile about what your expectations are about cards sent and received, but that won't sort out the issue at hand. Needless to say, hopefully the threat of retaliatory feedback shouldn't deter you from doing the right thing for the trading community here if things don't sort themselves out right, Jeff. Good luck with this.

I've traded with this member before. Keep in mind too that they are overseas and Google Translate is how we decode each other's messages so things may sound a bit harsh or off in translation. The cards I received weren't perfect, but nothing excesive like you mention.
I like to cover condition up front just to be safe. I've mentioned on my profile that I buy stuff from estates, large lots, etc. so the condition varies. I am usually the one who receives the proposal so I read the profile to see if they have condition preferences. If not, I'll ask before pulling cards (esp for large trades). If I see anything out of say ExMt/NrMt....I'll mention it and/or send a quick pic before accepting. Since I do build my collection from estates, auctions, etc. I have some ugly cards so receiving something similar on occasion doesn't bother me. Now if half a trade had gone through a blender I'd be prob be annoyed.

If I pull a card for a trade and I think it's even a little bit off from excellent condition I post a picture of it in my online album and send the person the link so he/she can see it and make an informed decision. To me, that's just common courtesy. This guy was way wrong in my opinion.

Recently completed a trade with this member as well, and was also disappointed in the condition of the cards received. I for one, would tell someone if there was a piece of clear tape on the front of a card (like it had been taped in an album).
