A recent forum post about Notes got around to discussing overuse and misuse of the UER note. I agree totally. I've come across many UERs that simply aren't UERs. Here's a prime example. The pose on this card was either the choice Bob and/or the photographer chose to use. To me, not an error but a choice.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Often times its the photographer's choice to have the player "switch hit". The players must get a kick out of it. "Haha he wants me to pose batting left handed *snicker snicker* " Although in Bob's case I have heard it was his idea. Who really knows?

I agree, not an error. Seems like a comment like that should go down in the notes for the card.

Because I collect E & Vs, I usually don't pay attention to UERs. They basicly jam up the whole search process. No need to pull them separately, as they exist as is...uncorrected errors. Occasionaly, I might find something interesting, that might cause the card getting special attention. A perfect example, the card that Cigar found with St. Luis mispelled...now that's really odd, therefore I might "album" it with E&Vs. Just my preference.

Yes, I have a bunch of 1986 Topps Football where the names are red or orange, same player. Not UER, not a variation. It's just the shading of the ink.

There are some instances where a player is in one uniform, but the logo is for another team, yet the back of the card explains why (1988 Score Dave Henderson is a good example). This is not an error, as the reasoning is explained on the card. While it may be worthy of a "Note2" entry, it is neither an error, nor an uncorrected error.

One of my complaints on this is from the 1973 Topps baseball set. Many of the manager/coaches cards have variations listed because the tint is orange. I believe this too was just a printing flaw. I bet if I pulled out one of my monster boxes of doubles from the 70's, I could find a variation of almost every card if a color variation is the criteria.

Actually, the 1973 example is a real variation. The coaches actually had backgrounds in the photos (they were kinda browninsh), whereas the backgrounds were blanked out and they are orange. If you have a "brown" one, you'll see the speckling of the background. That was more than an ink variation.
