I am looking at the 2016 Topps baseball set. Series one, all variations have a, b, etc. for the variations. Series two, just has them double listed with same number (no a, b, etc.). Card 696 shows 3 entries in the checklist, all with no a, b, etc., and if I click on the errors/variations list, it shows up one with no a, b, etc, and one with the b. I have seen other discussions on the subject, but never clearly heard or understood which way they should go in the checklist. This is a recent set. It has been done both ways, so it must not be understood by others either. So I am just wondering...How do we want these listed? Love this site, but get confused sometimes. (no, not an age thing). Thank you.

That to me is a bonafide Admin question to answer, maybe get them to answer instead of it turning into a debate. Sound fair?

Already PMed Admin to take a look at the question here and clarify. :)

Yeah, lets keep the hot heads out of this one!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Admin says the set is fixed correctly as it is now - so take note as to how it is. :)

Well, I just went and looked at it. (2016 Topps Baseball). The overall checklist is still the same way. First series cards and their variations have a, b etc. The second series cards just have the number repeating with no alpha sub text. BUT, when I click on errors and variations they all show with the alpha sub text. How can this be?

Go back to the main checklist page - and if there are still no alphas, refresh the page (hit F5) and that should fix it. I'm seeing the alphas.

Not sure why I see it one time listed with alphas, but then I look again and they aren't there.

I was just adding cards to the 2016 Opening Day set and it has a similar problem where some cards have a, b while other variations have the same card number repeated without the alpa

In some cases, it's because a user has gone rogue and removed those letters. You can check the "change log" for the set to see if that is what happened.
