What am I missing? There seems to be a way to add macot names so they are designated MASCOT in the search function and don't have all the info fields that real people names have associated with them.

How dare you suggest that mascots aren't real.

I just put MAS in the Note field for mascot cards, and then populate it in the Glossary as Mascot.

I've been entering the note MAS and glossary entry also. I just noticed that when searching on the word mascot to look for existing names, they look different than people names. Maybe this is somthing admin is doing.

Admin can tag a name entry as "fictional," which removes some of the fields that apply only to individual people, such as date of birth, nationality, college attended, etc. It's mostly used in non-sport, but shows up in other lists on occasion.
