You would probably be better off trying to sell everything as a full lot if she is in desperate sincerely (and quickly?) needs the money. Sales here (and other places) can be slow, as others have mentioned. Easiest way to sell and sell fast = list full collection in bulk somewhere FS.

if the collection has more valuable cards like vintage stars, rookies, autos etc, maybe start with some of the more valuable ones and list individually here or otherwise as FS/FT and if anyone sends you a trade request just reply FS only (and note it in your profile) 

I would agree with this. Dan's post earlier is right - plenty of members have success only selling on here, and I have completed more purchases than I have trades, I think. But if you're looking to move inventory in a hurry, bulk is the way to go - not individual cards (unless, as noted in the quote, there are pieces worth selling individually).
