When creating or editing sets and linking cards to names in the database, please check the site for existing entries for identical or similar names rather than just creating new PIDs for everything. Some recent examples (and trust me, there are many more):

Some of these are misspellings on the card or the entry, some of them are slight variants of the name, and some are pure duplicates; they all take time to fix that could be avoided with a bit more attention on the front end.

Yes, many of these could've been avoided by confirming spellings first. Also when adding checklists, don't assume the name is linked to the correct profile, especially for common names.

All of the profiles above have been merged, with some having the alternate names added as Aliases.

I'd like to add that titles, ranks, honorifics, forms of address are NOT part of a person's name.  Names are just First, Middle, Last, Surname (Jr, Sr, I, II, III); as appropriate. 

When creating a PID do not include Sir, Dame, Hon., Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, Gen, Col, Maj, Sgt, Pvt, Dr, Mme, etc as part of a name. Those titled names can be added to the aliases.
