.....and this is why I avoid collecting minor league teams....by the way, any minor league stuff I have in my collection is available for trade or sale.

LOL Kaline good point!! Yes I agree for the most part, but for the Jets, this is how it goes ........... the WHA Jets is kept seperate from the NHL as it was a seperate league, the NHL Jets (original and new) are the same TID eventhough as Billy states the new ones were the Atlanta Thrashers before and that team has its own TID. The Ottawa Senators has been well documented on the forums as well, the two teams were like 100 years apart but since same city, same league and name they are linked under one TID. Almost like its a team by team senario, what are the Washington Nationals like for TIDs? I have no issue lumping them togethor if that is the decision but just like avs said in another thread, gets very difficult to sort, and will need to be diligent when researching. Final question do I pass the two TID issue of the Gulls on to Admin?

Wait...You mean the ORIGINAL 1901 Washington Senators (who were officially the Washington Nationals until 1957) who moved to Minnesota in 1961 (along with Harmon Killebrew, Bob Allison and Jim Kaat) are lumped together with the expansion team of the same name that existed for a mere decade before becoming the Rangers? No wonder people often unknowingly mistake the Twins for an expansion team. The Dodgers and Giants--who moved at roughly the same time--didn't suffer that identity loss due to keeping half of their name. I suppose the Twins could have become the Minnesota Senators instead (we certainly have those here) a la the Los Angeles Lakers who kept the Lakers moniker due to all the lakes in LA!
In the interest of accuracy, I vote the teams be kept separate!

In my mind, a team should be required to change names when they leave a city, so if another team forms later in that city, they have the option to use that name. Like the Browns and the Hornets. The New Orleans team shouldn't have been the Hornets, and I'm glad they switched to Pelicans so Charlotte fans could have their old team name back. I wish the Colts had changed names when they moved to Indianapolis so the name would have been available to the Ravens when that relocation happened.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Oh I forgot you asked a question. I was too busy ranting. Yes, I would ask admin because I don't know the answer.
