I like to collect master sets where possible, and think that a "master set" gallery icon would be a nice addition to the current gallery icon.

By Master Set, do you mean the base sets? If so, I support the idea. The gallery has so many sets now in it that a way to sort it would be useful.

I will entertain trades but please don't offer me a 1993 Dave Stieb for a Nolan Ryan rookie. I prefer player for player (at least similar era and similar stardom).

Sandy,
In my collecting experience a Master Set has all base cards and any errors/variations associated with the base cards. That's it.... no inserts, specials, promos etc.
The err/var cards have to be accepted by sports collectors as well. ex. An err/var with a big pink blob has to be recognized as an "official" err/var. Just because you found a card with a black line but not recognized by card collectors does not make it an err/var.

What I meant by "master set" was base set, variations, inserts, etc. So, for example, take a look at the 1968 Topps set. The DB has scans of all of the base cards, all of the variations, and all of the inserts (the 33 cards Game set). So I would propose, in addition to the gold gallery icon on the 1968 sets page, an additional icon that would show that the complete master set has been scanned and link to a master gallery of the set.

A "Master Set" includes EVERY card in the release for that specific brand and year! In CluelessJoe's example of 1968 Topps, he is correct that the Master Set has been scanned!

I agree that there should be an Icon for a Master Set Scanned!

Are you looking at the gallery icons on the pages where you are browsing categories by set?
If so, just hit the little triangle to the left of the set name. That expands the set to list all of the 'inserts and related' sets and you can see if those have gallery icons too.
