I'm not too sure why he's so upset that it isn't JSY. Any hockey fan knows it isn't a jersey anyway, it's a sweater. ;)

He probably could do that - however, if we want "Jersey" in the Note2 field, we're going to have to do this the slow way.
Does anyone know if the MEM2, MEM3, etc show up in thr Memorabilia reports? They may need to get fixed too.

Ranfordfan,
You have absolutely nothing to apologize about. You were doing it the way that the tutorials / permissions asked. I beleive this change is necessary due to the evolution of the card industry. The majority of the first cards to have MEM inserted in them were JSY. Therefore even the older card collector's books refered to the cards as JSY or MEM - bat, cap, patch, etc. But now every year, cards with allkinds of MEM are produced. Therefore to be consistent on this site and to allow the search engines to work at 100% success, this change in Admin's direction is for the best to the MEM collector's. Yes, it means a lot of work to change everything over but if all members take the time tochange those they come across as they use the site, then they will all get picked up in time.
Other than being an oiler fan, you are one of those big contributors to this site and a valued member; don't let this change bring you down. (You really have 500 of these cards??)

not sure if i'm beating a dead horse on this or not.. i know this topic was brought up a couple time in the distant past about JSY and MEM and the notes.. as stated on some cards by reading the material there or on the back, it specifically states either Jersey or Game Worn Material (mem). you can always validate whatever beckett has it categorized as. Game Worn being a pot-luck of whatever uniform piece was cut. as far as the MEM2 or MEM3, there are some cards that have 2 or 3 pieces of material, IE: JSY, Ball, Glove , like the Absolute Tools of the Trade. which should be in note 1 as MEM or MEM3 (same as beckett if you want to go route) then with the pieces noted in Note2 if need be. Nowadays, MEM is the default do-all for things- makes it easier. On the jersey cards, its looking like the MFR is specifically cutting a JSY peice vice a ramdom part of uniform. If i remember, CIGs posted a good article of defination in the past on it. to me, as long as you got a JSY or MEM there and the rest of note1 is correct, (SN, AU or whatever) and the card is in the right spot .. then so be it. its alot better when the note is filled out rather than not filled, leaving a person to search and research the proper spot for it. im done...peace out.. stay warm and happy collecting!

Not offened but I am glad we are getting everyone on the same page as any piece of jersey, football, baseball, bat, shoe, helmet, ext. should be put under the note catogory as MEM.

One other thing to consider... Panini does not tell you what kind of memorabilia you are getting. With them having the exclusive license for the NBA, NASCAR and NFL, plus previously having an NHL license and making unlicensed MLB cards, there's a lot of ambiguous relic cards out there. Even though I've been collecting the NBA's relic cards for almost 20 years, and have into the 4 digits of them in my collection, there are too many similarities in materials used to properly identify what you have in many cases.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. So, I guess MEM is the generalized version...but using the Note2 section to further explain (JSY, PATCH, STK, BAT) would definitely be time consuming, which is probably why most people leave them blank.
