Yes, I'm referring to autographs. I've gotten my hockey collection on the site (finally!) including some missing scans. Now I'm getting my autographed cards uploaded. It's easy enough to scan cards that I pulled from a pack (or bought/traded for) that are missing images. But my question is what about cards that I have received autographed through the mail that are missing images on here? Should I upload the scan I have and mark it as needing replacement, in the spirit of some scan is better than no scan? Or should I just let it be for now and only upload those images to my personal collection (which I'm doing anyway)? Thanks for the help!
Jason

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I probably wouldn't upload the image other than to your personal collection, but that's just my opinion.

I think the standard opinion/rule for autographs is if the card was issued with the autograph it is OK but if it is a TTM or in-person autograph then NO.
At least as far as the database in concerned apparently there is a way when viewing your collection to add a card image that will only show up in your collection and not in the set database. Ask the experts for details on doing that. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

I've managed to find the feature for adding to your own collection okay, and it is working just fine. Thanks for the replies; I know scans are supposed to be clean, but for some reason I thought I remembered reading a thread at one point that said if one could get a scan up, to do so but make sure that it was marked as "needing replacement". However, knowing me, I could have a) imaged it or b) it may have just been a thread asking the same thing I just did.

Depends on the rarity of the card. If there's virtually no way anyone else is going to have the card, let alone a clean copy of it, upload. If it's a 2016 Donruss base card, let someone else upload the clean one. :)

I did that for a couple of Ranfords and they are no longer up I think. They are even team issue Postcards so fairly rare but not clean so I passed on the info to Admin.
