I am trying to add the scans for a 2013 Topps Jonathan Lucroy Cyan Printing Plate before I put it on eBay (I need to fund my hobby somehow; I only allow myself to spend money that is in my PayPal). Anyway, that's beside the point. The point is, are there any tips or suggestions for how to scan a printing plate?
Mainly what I'm referring to is the fact that the plate (like the MLB Showdown cards) has rounded corners. When I try and line it up in my scanner, those corners get cut off. They get rounded short on my scan, and completely cut off like this Gordon Beckham from the same set when I try and add it to the site. Is this okay? I feel like it isn't and I don't want to upload a scan that is subpar, but I need some help and direction on how to tackle this issue if not. Thanks in advance.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Personally, I scan some extra space around the card, then straighten and crop it myself afterwards.

Okay, so we do want the rounded corners. So how is that done? The only way I can seem to line the card up straight is to put it against a side of the scanner, but that's what contributes to the corners being cut off. I'm guessing we all use a program such as Billy's recommendation (photoscape)? I used to have it on my old laptop but haven't yet put it on this one.

It HAS to show the rounded corners, else the scan would be incomplete.

That's what I figured. At least, that's what makes sense in my mind.

my method is to place a toploader against the edge of the scanner and then line the card against the toploader, that way it is straight and you don't get the scanner cut-off
