I agree with Jimmy's point but hadnt taken the time to type out what i felt would be a suitable reply. Thankfully Dan summed up my thoughts well. "Collection" is the word being used in two opposite ways. In his first paragraph, "collection" refers to what one might call his "keepers". In his second paragraph, "collection" is used for every instance a card is found in someone's profile, whether it be collection, trade list, or want list. His point is completely valid. To say that a"collection" DOES NOT include a want list invalidates the word's definition in example two, and vice versa. I had honestly never thought about it before. If i add non-existent 2019 Topps Mike Trout to my theoretical Want List on an otherwise empty collection, the 2019 Topps page says I have 0/600 cards in my collection. The 2019 Topps Mike Trout page says 1 is listed in collections. The comprehensive Mike Trout page says I have 0 Mike Trout cards in my collection The issue is the word "collection" has opposite meanings.
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
