Card Identification Forum

Does anybody recognize the style of these cards? Still working away on the rehousing/research/documentation of this tennis-themed trade card collection, and hit a snag this afternoon. The lender (collector from whom the Museum is borrowing the collection for an upcoming exhibit) had a note classifying these as "1951 German Gold Border." The reverse side of all three are blank. I am looking for the manufacturer, confirmation of the date, name of the series, and if known, what product(s) said manufacturer was promoting. As these cards are 71, 72, and 73, they are clearly part of a larger series that is probably not overtly tennis.

NOTE: The Buchholz referenced in the first card is Ernst Buchholz (German, 1920-1993), not Butch Buchholz.

Apparently a multi-sport set.

The same 3 tennis cards was listed on ebay with the same name 1951 german gold border. But the people in them and the bike racers are from the 1930s i think. I doubt thats what the set is called though as you cant find anything about them. 

I couldn't find that listing on eBay (which depending on when it sold, it could have been purchased by my collector/lender). Oh well. Guess it will remain a mystery for the time being.

I spent probably over an hour looking for an answer, the other day, with no success.  Interesting cards though.
