Card Identification Forum

Could someone tell me if this is a 1997-98 Pinnacle  "Team Pinnacle" or a  "Team Pinnacle - Mirror" or a "Team Pinnacle - Parallel" or a "Team Pinnacle - Parallel Mirror".   The front is half white and half blue, the back is half shiny blue and half shiny silver mirror-like.    Looks like people selling them on EBAY don't have a clue either.   Thanks

Same dilemna I have with the early Finest Refractors.  I still don't know if I have any in my collection.  Till they actually wrote on the back that it was a Refractor, I had no idea how to tell them apart.

Yzerman is in the set - we have them all. I'll let you knwo the difference later tonight when I can look at them in hand. I do believe however that the white version is the base "Team Pinnacle" or the "Team Pinnacle - Parallel" version. I'll confirm later. (I think the "Parallel" is simply a reversal of the subjects - So the Yzerman / Gilmour - Gilmour is on the Silver side on the base, Yzerman would have the silver side on the parallel. Boy, will we have a lot of sample images when I get to the Yzerman binders.

By looking at current images on the database, it looks to be the parallel. Looks like the Team Pinnacle insert has the foil on the front. COMC has two listings. An insert and a foil back parallel insert. I'm not even going to mention how Beckett lists thsee cards with images.

In football there are three versions.

1. Foil front / Plain back
2. Plain front / Foil back
3. Rainbow foil front / Plain back

The hobby box doesn't distingiush more than one version, so I'm not sure if the foil front or foil back is the base or parallel. Anything referencing 'mirror' I would guess is the rainbow version. It's possible hockey has a fourth version with plain front / rainbow back.

And this is the same for hockey - 3 versions. Just as Bounty13 has described for football, same for hockey.

Therefore, because you have the Foil back - this is considered the "Parallel".

I have put in the request to delete the Mirror Parallel as there was never such a set.
