I am wondering if some one could help me with this. I came across this card the other day and cant find any info as to why the corner would be cut. Is it a promo card? Or did the previous owner cut it for some reason? Is it garage?. Any info would be great. Thanks.

That was done by some vendor when packs wouldn't sell the manufactor would have them cut or punch holes in them so they wouldn't be resold.

Could be a factory miscut.

~Rob~ Hockey set collector including inserts, ERR, COR, VAR. Knowledgeable about 1968-69 to 1994-95 hockey. All 1990 and newer cards for trade are NRMT. Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

Pinnacle (Score) distributed "corner-cut" promos in packs to dealers in the mid-90s. Most were base cards, but usually an insert & parallel also received the same treament. One of the upper corners was cut at 45-degrees to the edges.
I don't recall Topps doing this back then & the cut is at an odd angle. More likely hand-made than machine-error (IMO).
