1989 Star Harrisburg Senators

I have a few minor league cards and decided to scan some of them for the site and as I do not collect minor league cards, do not know a great deal about them. Looking at 1989 Star Harrisburg Senators, I saw some discrepancies as the card #20 that I have shows front of I think Ed Yacopino and the back of Junior Vizcaino. The Card on site has correct front but back of Vizcaino, I think. Looked on COMC and saw evidence that card #'s 20, 21, 22, 23 have various configurations and I could not discover just how many and what numbering was the correct numbering. If anyone has the 411 on this then the checklist could be corrected. I posted this on card ID so I could show images, so not looking for help on ID. Thanks Jerry Yeager

Hi Jerry,

I may have a lot more info on this, but I have to dig out my collection. (Right now, my MLB cards are literally above the MiLB cards.) I remember that we made a few errors (anyone remember the Mike Zinter card?) and this certainly could have happened as we were using slides (i.e., very small) to do layout and didn't know who these guys were from anyone else. Most likely, there were only 2 different cards issued. I don't remember us ever going back to print anything for a third attempt.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the reply. Without all 8 of the cards, I could not determine what card was a variation of which. If indeed there are only 2 of each then the images I scanned would be a variation of the Vizcaino card. Look forward to your results. Thanks Jerry ------------------------------- Jerry Yeager

I checked a bit more and it seems that card # 18 has variations also. The variations appear to be on #'s 18, 20, 21, 22, 23. Could be wrong, could be more. Jerry ------------------------------- Jerry Yeager

Knowing how things were done back then, if 18 has a variation, then it probably is a variation for each card 18-23.

Wow, that was 25 years ago!
