Card Identification Forum

       I can't find this in either TCDB or Beckett. I don't know whether is belongs in TCDB or not and I really don't know what category it should be in except it is Racing anyway.

Pure guess here: included in a toy model kit as part of a contest? Or maybe handed out at Daytona?

Could be entered under racing as "1995 AMT ERTL NASCAR Contest or Game Cards"?

It's part of a series. Most of the set is street cars but there is this one racing card in it. I have been unable to find a complete checklist (Even AMT doesn't know- I have asked) and unsure if it should be listed in racing or non-sports. I have at least 8 cards from the set.

The "festive cape" line really made me laugh.  It does look like that.

By the way- models are not toys. That's like calling a trading card a toy. I'm a modeler, in case you didn't know...my work has appeared in Scale Auto and Model Cars Magazine on multiple occasions, (both as a modeler and writer) including once when used by the model company itself in their advertisement- still my career highlight to date.

To me that is more important than the awards I've won (which have been few- I'm not all that good at it)

By the way, I took that photo, and the Galaxie art director modified it slightly. If you look real close, visible better in the scan than the photograph, you can see my old basketball hoop in the background. (my health doesn't allow me to play anymore) This photo was taken on the hood of our family Jeep in 2006.

Sorry if I stepped on your toes Billy! Apparently I'm upsetting everyone today. I'll take a break from the forums and resume trying to grow grass and tomatoes!

Just had to set the record straight. For somebody not in the world of models how would they know? Hopefully whoever reads this post in the future will now know. Knowing is half the battle, after all! I'm not upset at you.
