I would like to post an example scan of each logo difference, as I did at the creation of this thread, but it will take some time, so I would like to wait for the list to be entered into the site and just spend the time uploading the scans on there once. I just posted a checklist on page 2 of this thread with descriptions of the logo differences for you folks. You were right on about the Tigers logo difference being white and orange. My checklist will tell you which is which. Off the top of my head, the Diamondbacks have an "A" logo, and a "D" logo, and the Twins have the "M" logo and the "TC" logo. If all else fails, look up scans of the mini die cut cards from this set on TCDB or Ebay to know which logo came out in packs. There was no factory version of the mini die cuts made later, so there is no debate about which logo came out first. Enjoy the search for these variations!! I still enjoy seeing the variations from this set 9 years later.

MrAnderson I don't collect for myself anymore, so trading is of no benefit to me. The cards I have posted to help others finish their collections are only for sale. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We are all here because we love cards!!

Bob, if you check out the logos on the mini die cut cards, you will know which logos are from the packs. I uploaded a checklist for you guys on page 2 of this thread. Now that I have a complete list, I can work on that other project we have been discussing in PM's.

After 27 years in cards, it is still possible for me to make a mistake, but it isn't likely with something of this magnitude. In my opinion, Upper Deck made the biggest bonehead move by changing the cards in such a drastic way before making the factory sets.

I am so sorry Bob. My personal life is a huge struggle with working as much as I do, and raising a 4 year old for almost ALL of the remaining free time I have. I love cards, but I love my daughter an immesurable amount more than anything else on this planet. Weekends are the majoritiy of my free time, and I have her for 75% of every weekend. I didn't even get on TCDB last weekend because we were so busy doing crazy fun kid stuff. Here is the info you requested.
Cubs - The ® trademark is moved ever so slightly at the bottom of the "C" logo. Almost unnoticable.
Mariners, Marlins, Rockies - The gray that fills each of these logos is just a tiny bit darker than the regular release.
Padres - The logo color in general is lighter and less easy to see the details than in the regular release.
Blue Jays - The logo AND the background that the logo sits on is not just lighter, but also seems to have less blue tint in it versus the regular release.
Again, Bob, I am sorry for not replying sooner, but I didn't get any notifications of your message like I am used to, and that is probably an indictment of a society that runs on cell phones. I am awake at home for 15% of the week. Not a ton of time for cards, but I am trying. I know scan are also needed for the major variations, now that the variation checklist is posted on TCDB.

Thank you , Thank you
Do Not waste time...spend every second of your 75% with your daughter...that "crazy, fun, kid stuff" cannot be recaptured. As you can see, I don't waste a minute of time with my g-daughter....I live to do things with her!
Thank you again, ~BOB~

I have about 150 of these (base) cards that ALL came from packs which I opened myself so my cards should all be of the main (hobby) set and not the factory set variation, correct? However, all of my Phillies cards have the blue star in the middle of the P. Therefore, the "no star" should be the factory set variation, methinks.
All my other logos are consistent with the description that is NOT in the factory parallel subset. (This is giving me a headache).
I've also noticed that many of the scans that are shown in the base set must have come from a factory set. From what I can tell, the scans that Dave Sosidka contributed were from the factory set, as they are different from my cards. Not sure of all of them though as I didn't have the patience to look at them all. Also, the TM vs R next to the Cardinals and Pirates logos are not distinguishable on my screen so I can't tell what they are. But the TC logo (the home Twins logo) and the M (away Twins logo) are quite distinguishable. Mine all have the M (which is sad because I really prefer the TC!) I don't know enough about the other teams' logos to know which is home and which is away. (If that is, indeed, part of the strategy to the variations).
Summary: HOBBY PACKS (ie base set):
- Twins: M logo
- Tigers: Solid white D
- Yankees: NY outlined in white
- Red Sox: Thin B
- Diamondbacks: A logo
- Phillies: Blue star in the P
- Dodgers: LA in light gray
- Braves: R to the right and below the A
- Cardinals TM to right of logo
- Pirates: TM to right of logo
- Athletics: A's in white with white outline
What did I miss?

Ms. Sousafly, that is an amazing catch. I did reverse those descriptions when I created the spreadsheet in a hurry. I have taken the liberty of changing all of the entries in the checklist that I put in this thread, but all of the Phillies descriptions on the official checklist on TCDB will also need to be changed by someone that has the access to do so. Thank you to Sousafly for catching my mistake, and I do apologize for any confusion this error of mine may have caused with this already confusing topic.
