Ok, this set has me confounded. But I think I may have figured it out. If so, the TCDB entry needs to be revised a bit.
Beckett has the following parallels listed: Blue, In the Zone, Solos, Reflectors, and Torquers.
The TCDB has all of these PLUS a Red parallel.
According to Beckett, the In the Zone have gold lettering, the base cards are silver, the Torquers are red, the Blue are blue, and the Solos have a different sheen to the card (glossy?) and are marked "Solo 1 of 1", and the reflectors are holofoil with a laminate protector.
But, Beckett seems to be almost completely wrong on all counts. I just bought a sealed retail box of these and on the wrapper where it gives the odds of finding each insert it clearly describes the Torquers as being "Electric blue foil" and there is 1 per pack, meaning these are fairly common. Also, ALL of the base cards are gold letters which means Beckett's (and the TCDB) has the base cards and In the Zone cards switched. As I understand it, the In the Zone cards (silver) were basically inserted in the hobby packs the way the Torquers were in the retail packs. As for the Solos, they are red foil with the "Solo 1 of 1" on them and the number is preceeded by an "R". But apparently there are actually red foil cards that AREN'T Solos, or at the very least, don't have the "Solo 1 of 1" on them and are numbered exactly like the base set. COMC has 4 of the Solos and a couple of the mysterious red cards. But while I expect the Solos to be rare, I'm confused about the apparent rarity of the non-solo reds. I've never seen them anywhere other than COMC (well, there's one other on eBay, but that's it).
So, this is what I have figured out. Does anybody have any other info?
Base - Gold foil lettering
In The Zone - Silver foil lettering, released 1 per hobby pack
Torquers - Blue foil lettering, released 1 per retail pack
Reflectors - Holofoil with laminate protector, card number preceeded by an "R"
Solos - Red foil lettering, card number preceeded by an "R" and underneath has "Solo 1 of 1", possibly glossy
Red - Red foil lettering, same numbering as base cards (as opposed to the Solos)
Blue - Does not actually exist, mistaken for Torquers
Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.
