I don't know what that card is, but it would look cool in my Favre collection!

I think this is a homemade card. I have a similar one for Robin Yount. Or you could call them an artist card or artist tribute card. But this wasn't put out by a card manufacturer.

Here's a link to my Yount Zeenut. Someone was putting these out about 5-6 years ago. It was driving the Zeenut, the real Zeenut, collector's nuts because all these homemade cards were popping up in ebay searchs. Lots of different variations, images, players, and all sorts of different sports.

Actually, I have seen a ton of these cards on E-bay. All of the ones I've seen have been baseball, but they have the exact same design. They are also made under the same name El Mundo Estrella. Apparently that is an actual company name, and all of the cards listed on E-bay have them listed as "Spanish Game Cards", some of them (the older ones) are listed as "Trivia Cards." So my guess is this is a football set put out by the same company, however I have absolutely no guesses as to when because all the cards listed on E-bay do not have years listed on any of them.

Thank you so much. I transcribed the Spanish writing and it mentions a newspaper called The Star, I believe, I have 3 different Favre cards. The one card has exact same picture as 91 Score 611 RC, kinda strange I thought.

Yeah, El Mundo Estrella is either The World Star, or the Star World, not really sure which. Google Translate says it one way, Bing Translator says it the other, and I don't speak Spanish well enough to be able to know which is correct. As far as the picture, it's kinda cool, and not at all uncommon. It's been quite a while since card companies had photographers on their payroll. Most of them will just buy the pictures from a photographer who's good (i.e. Getty Images, AP, similar companies). Those are also the sources used by many newspapers who publish images not taken by their own photographers, so it's not that uncommon to see a card pop up every now and then with a picture you might find in a newspaper somewhere. Especially if its a picture from an iconic event/happening.

I was doing a search for those words (and cards) earlier too. My understanding is that Estrella is Star and Mundo is World. But my Spanish isn't too good either and I don't know which order those 2 words should be placed.
I do completely agree with you about the card companies and them buying photos instead of acquiring them with their own employees. It sure would be nice if I had a "Press Pass"! I could sell a lot of photos to Panini and that would just be for NASCAR events. If I had a press pass, I'd go to a lot more sporting events.

Two things:
1 - Spanish: Adjectives follow the nouns. Now, if the Broder-type person who put these cards together is just trying to capitalize on a "foreign language" set and doesn't know the basic grammar structures and only vocab words, they might structure it like English. "The Star World" honestly doesn't make sense when talking about elite sports players. "The World Star" does make sense. I think this was a case of someone who knew vocab words, but not basic Spanish grammar.
2 - Images: Most of these Broder types tooks their images from wherever they could find them, usually with no compensation to the people who took the photo or who owned the rights. Many of them were lifted from posters, newspapers, other cards, etc. There was no Internet back then, and by time people realized where the photo came from, the company that put out the cards somehow no longer existed (by some "miracle"), so no action could be taken.
I wish we lived in a world where what is describe is the norm, however, having been with a company that used freelance photographers to get our images, I know what kind of "junk" went on - especially in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Actually, El Mundo Estrella is a publication company in Mexico that publishes (or at least used to, not sure if they're still around) a newspaper as well as a monthly publication. They were a legit company and this would probably be considered a liscensed set, but Mexico doesn't have the same type of copyright laws we do.
