I was adding cards to my collection tonight and I noticed that I have cards from the 1997 Upper Baseball set that appear to have two different versions; one version with a gold back and one with a white back. The front of the card and the rest of the back is exactly the same. The scans show the difference in color between the two versions.
I couldn't find a listing for a parallel set or any card variations in the database. Does anyone know if either exists?
Here's the listing of the set on TCDB:

Thanks!

Beckett lists the gold back as the A version and white back as the B version.

Thanks!
I bet the "Capture the Flag" sub-set (card #371 - #399?) has two versions for each card. Can anyone confirm and if so, should we list the two variations here?

Apparently, all the cards from 370-387 were made with the standard back and a white back.

Additionally, there were a couple white backs listed on COMC. Many more of the standard backs. Looks to me like the white backs aren't as common. I know nothing about their potential value.

As far as listing here, it looks to be an unintentional set-up error, as opposed to a missing color or printing defect. I think they should be listed, but you might want to contact Admin as they have the final say.

Thanks, good info as always. I contacted admin, still waiting on an answer. I guess it comes down to the question of how they should be listed; as an error or variation.

I think they should be listed. But I can see the other viewpoint, a missed step. Much like missing the foiling step. Like you say, an Admin call.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

A missing step would be if one of the 4 colors were missing (yellow, cyan, magenta, black) or a foil stamping. That's not the case with these as it's the entire background coloration, which looks to be a blend of these colors, and they are present elsewhere on the card, including black for the number in that same area (not like the backs were "covered" and no ink present in spots). It definitely meets the criteria Admin has set forth in prior cases for inclusion here.
