2000 Collector's Edge Supreme
(Base set) Released as a 190-card set, 2000 Collector's Edge Supreme is composed of 150 veteran cards and 40 short-printed rookie cards, which were sequentially numbered to 2000. Several of the rookies were released as redemption cards with an expiration date of 3/31/2001. Supreme was packaged in 24-pack boxes containing 10 cards each, and carried a suggested retail price of $2.99. Card number 151 was initially intended to be LaVar Arrington who was pulled from production and, reportedly, never released in packs. Instead it was replaced by a redemption card that ultimately turned out to be redeemable for Sylvester Morris. However, a number of copies of the Arrington card made their way into the secondary market years later. Also, card #171 Bill Burke (and the HoloGold parallel) surfaced after Edge ceased football card operations.
(Hologold) Randomly inserted in packs, this 190-card set parallels the base Supreme set on cards that have the base foil highlights enhanced with a "gold fleck" foil highlight. Card numbers 1-150 are sequentially numbered to 200 and card numbers 151-190 are sequentially numbered to 20. A number of cards surfaced later missing the serial numbering.
Beckett lists the Brady RC (base card) at $50 MINT, and the Brady Hologold version at $500 MINT.
