Glad you are back up and running. I lost power for 3 hours last Sunday and thought the world had ended lol. To make matters worse when the power came back it fried my tv. Being home on disability that became the 36 hours of my life.

I didn't realize that was happening. I'm glad you're all up and running again. Hopefully randylaw's TV was the worst casualty of the event.

Good to hear. Storms like this really put me on edge. I spent most of the day pacing around the house trying to keep busy. Amazingly, we didn't lose power. Almost 450,000 people did. Still very windy today but not half as bad.

I'm OK. Had a typical work day, well one of those work for a company that contracts to the gov but sometimes works days the gov is closed. One of those weird days that is really a waste of a day. I didn't know about the G'ment closing until I was on my way to work via radio newscasts weather updates. I had noticed the traffic was a little lighter. In some areas it was very noticable others were pretty normal. I forget which neighborhood it was but I did see a section of a wooden fence (a solid heavy wooden fence) on the ground with part of it sticking in the right hand lane. Parking lot at work was less filled than normal but not totally empty as one might expect. At work we didn't lose power but there was a glitch of some kind that took out our new phones* and computer network for about 5 minutes, wifi worked and I think the old phones (which only a few people are still on) were working.
Going home there were ocassional traffic lights out along my route I didn't keep track how many. Closer to home there were two in a row that were out and I thought my area might be but wasn't. When I got home I had power, but clocks indicated the power had gone off at sometime during the day.
On the first friday of the month I normally go to the home of some friends but they had texted saying they were without power and a tree was down in the road nearby. So our monthy ritual was postponed/cancelled. They live at the end of a street and were blocked off due to the tree. Might still be not sure it depends on the size of the tree and how long it takes for the proper entity to take care of such a matter.
*Our office recently went through an upgrading to Windows 10 (I think to comply with Goverment standards) and new phone system hooked up to the main computer network they called the operation a "migration". Some departments use such specialized software and equipment that they are either not "migrated" yet or can't be since their stuff isn't compatible with Windows 10.

Glad your safe captkirk. I see v3 is online.
My wife didn't know the gov't had closed until she got to the Pentagon. Shortly after she got back home the power went out; approx 0900.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

There's not much worse than a power outage. What bothers me the most is the thought of losing everything in the fridge...and having to pay what it would cost to replace it. Some of the medicine I take is supposed to be refrigerated until opened.
Our power didn't go out yesterday but more than 10,000 people who use our company lost it...ours flickered several times but stayed on.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Billy,
RE the medicines how long can they go unrefigerated? If at all? Have you been advised on that by your docs? I know with food there is a shelf life espeically if it was opened but I haven't researched about expiration of medicines. I imagine if it is too long they have to be replaced which is darn expensive. I hate the fact that our healthcare is so damn expensive. It costs way too much just to see the darn doctor or dentist or specialist or whomever.
