lerx, that is cool that you collect the ws winners

I have thought about collecting a team set for each ws winner but have never really gone down that road...I may do that some time though.

Actually Mark, (mzentko) it's not just the WS Champs, but both teams. Only half of those Cardinal teams were winners 1964, 1967, 1982, 2006 and 2011. I also keep a Cubs scorecard for each year going back to '58, my birth year, and try to have that be against whoever the NL Champs were that year. I just enjoy the history of the game.

The performance of my team has no effect at all. My team has been the Astros since the mid 1980's when they had Bass, Ashby, those guys. They haven't had a lot of great seasons until recently but I collected the same regardless. I collect for a few pc guys and sets. Now, I know a few collectors who quit collecting a player or sport due to other reasons but not due to performance. 

interesting...I have thought about that side as well (other team that played against STL in their WS)

may have to do that one day

Doesnt matter to me, i collected players, not teams

I don't even follow most sports anymore, with the exception of college football, but am still addicted to baseball cards.
