Only Bob could cause this much drama without even making a post 😂

To recap for some of the new members, Bob did these things and more: 

1. Purposely post wrong checklists
2. Listed several things that were not allowed even after being told that they were not allowed by Admin
3. Admitted to trolling the forum attempting to cause problems. 
4. Repeatedly asked the same question seemingly weekly even after being told the answer simply because he didn't like the answer
5. Personal attacks based on the physical appearance of other members, or at least one (me). I do not know for sure but I think this may have been the proverbial final straw that cost him his his posting privilege. Admin did not tell me if that was the case, just a hunch. 
6. Sending wrong and damaged cards in trade and not doing anything to fix it. 

I'm sure there's more I don't remember...but for Bob it wouldn't be a second chance...it'd be more like a 27th chance. 

He knew what he was doing was wrong, admitted to doing it wrong on purpose, admitted to trying to cause problems. It's not like this was a quick reactionary thing, it was an ordeal that went on for literal years before Admin finally stepped in and put a stop to it. 

To address the apology concern... Bob made none. 

All my dealings with Bob has been good and appeared to be a good guy to me.    He was helpful at times to me and the site.   Yes I have seen where he step over the line more then once.  He even doubled down sometimes.   That said we do not know what really happened to have him banned.  The issue is between him and Admin.   Is Admin bias?   Who knows but people get to a point and that is the end.    We do not know how many more members have been banned.

Yes there are groups of like-minded collectors that will reply to posting which may look like they are ganging up on a person.  Members just need to stop taking some of these things personally.

Maybe if you contacted Admin he would tell you why Bob was banned and why others have not been.   Maybe we can report others to Admin and ask them be banned also.   Yes I wonder about a few others.  Some of the members that went back and fore with Bob was not very nice.

Over the years I have sent out a lot of PIF cards.   I have gotten a few but that is because of the wants.   The reasons I picked the members to sent to are: (yes it builts trust)

1.  Just a member who wanted that card.  Some times they have posted on one and done posting.  Other times just a name that is on my address list.   These do not have cards for me.

2.  Someone who purchased cards from me.  Just a thank you

3.  A member that helped me figured out a issue I was having.

4.  A few members that I'm trying to make their day.   Most of these I have deal with.

5.  A few times where a member has cards for me but will not reply to messages or offer.   Yes I'm hoping they changes their minds and reply to me.

6.  Members who have sent me PIF.

My understanding is he has been banned not only from being able to post on the forum but also from adding checklists or images, I was curious if the way the site worked it was an all or nothing way the admin had to ban them as it would seem to me that preventing a member from uploading pictures would be punishment not only to that member but all of the rest of us on this site if they had a card that could help us.  I could understand if someone were uploading dirty pictures or something but otherwise wouldn't it be to all out benefit to have someone upload images?  Per your recap, it sounds as though it was more than just what was said on the forums even if that was the last straw.

Regarding #4, some of us are a bit dense at times.  Not here but in other online chats I might find myself asking the same question multiple times either because I missed the answer or didn't understand it.  I hope that alone wasn't too a key factor.

I guess I understand why the admin choose this even if I don't agree that Bob shouldn't be given another chance after 2 years.  Having been an admin to other groups/sites sometimes you just don't want to deal with those who have become headaches to you.

Some or all of these things have been done by many other members including the person who made this list; if you doubt me, just read this whole thread for examples of trolling, goading and disrespectful comments towards others. In the thread that led to the ban, Bob was goaded by many and he finally retaliated in an unpleasant way.

Sportzcommish could quote: "He who has not sinned shall cast the first stone" or something like that.

This is not true. Bob has been banned from making forum posts, comments on the Random Card of the Day, and I believe from buying ad space on the site. 

Bob's final forum post was in December 8, 2020 (he made a comment on a RCOTD in January 2021, though I believe Admin then removed that access as well). Since that time, he has added checklists, videos, comments, and packaging images. He has also completed at least 12 trades (possibly more; there are 12 that resulted in him receiving feedback). He has submitted IRs, as well as sent direct messages to members. 

This part of my post can be considered "as far as I know": I don't believe Bob has access to approve his own image uploads. That is not to be confused with the inability to add images. He can add them; they just go into the queue and need to be approved before they are uploaded. 

The only part of the site that Bob cannot utilize is the forums. 

Edit for clarity: The only part of the site that Bob cannot utilize is the forums (and associated functions, like RCOTD) and the ad space.

More efforts should be spent on making the forums more reader-friendly and less on banning people. This has got to be the ugliest nested-quoting forum I've ever seen.

I have nothing against Bob, don't know him personally. But if you hate long threads, Bob was the king at stirring the board into a tizzy with weekly lengthy 20 page threads debating some mundane issue (usually on something the Admin told him NO on) pitting board members against each other to the point of downright hatred. He had numerous timeouts to knock it off, each time crossing the red line further and further.

The boards have been peaceful since then, except when someone bumps a thread about Bob.
